Lovely cottage full of character. Very well equipped and clean. Village quiet but has the basics and the locals are very friendly and chatty. Went with Pip the Collie who was welcomed into both local pubs and the 'River Shack' down by the Mill Pond. Cottages this nice are never cheap but you get what you pay for. Very customer focussed owners. Totally recommend.
Parking is down at the Mill Pond for which you get a permit. If you have any level of fitness that is not a problem despite others commenting but if anyone in your party has a disability or health issue worth checking out with Ben or Lynn.

Absolutely Fantastic! A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Perfectly positioned between the pub and the peaceful and quiet inlet which is a stroll away. Great crabbing off the Quay and a lovely cafe/coffee shop.
The cottage itself is probably the best equipped we've ever stayed in ( and we've stayed in lots of cottages over the years ) with everything you need in the kitchen and throughout. Everything has been thought of and is supplied. Spotlessly clean, two bath/shower rooms, comfy beds with quality bedding, cosy and warm when you need it to be but light and airy with the stable door in warmer weather.
Great village position for days out. Two pubs in the village, plus a great shop supporting local produce. Fish & Chips in Brixham straight from the fish market, good pubs and eating in Totnes. So much to do we ran out of time, didn't get time to do the 'round robin' trip - steam train - bus - river boat trip. Didn't get a chance to go down to Salcombe. We definitely need to come back! Can't wait, but don't want to tell too many people our secret! Next time we're hiring a boat for the week from Dartmouth!

Laurel Cottage is beautifully presented and real credit to the owners.
If you want a cosy romantic getaway with a lovely pub across the road, and great local walks, this is it!
Many thanks to the owners for their helpful advice before we arrived.

this is a well equipped and comfortable cottage, KS bed was very comfy and we slept like logs! On the downside there is no parking, which was a bigger deal than we thought it would be as we had dogs with us. Unpacking car was slightly fraught! Parking on the quay is actually over 5 mins down the road, rather than opposite cottage which was the impression we had from reading details. In the end we parked round the corner by school during the evening which was closer. Of the two showers the main bathroom one is the best, we found it difficult to keep a constant heat level in the en suite one. The back garden lawn area is up very steep steps so may not suit everyone.
It was disappointing to arrive to a very cold house as no heating on until we set it on arrival, this would appear to be normal. We found it took quite awhile for property to heat up and were very thankful for the gas fire.
The Castle pub was friendly and locals happy to chat, food was good, not just chips with everything! Avoid anything but main roads as we had quite a few interesting encounters with other vehicles.
All that said we had a nice time but probably would not return.

We had a lovely week at Laurel cottage in October 1/2 term. Very sweet and cosy thatched cottage in quiet village. Our kids (aged 7 and 9) loved catching crabs by the river (only a few mins walk from the cottage), and we visited Dartmouth, Totnes, Paignton Zoo, Dartmoor etc. Laurel cottage is clean and well equipped and we really appreciated the phone call on Sat night to check we had everything we needed. After driving from Brighton, the tea, biscuits and pint of milk left out for us on arrival was a thoughtful touch. I would totally recommend this lovely cottage
