What a gorgeous cottage!
Just had a lovely stay with my daughter at Little Byre! The cottage has absolutely everything you could need with amazing views from the garden! We have stayed here before and would most definitely return again as we just love it so much! Thankyou Margaret you have thought of everything!

What more could you ask for
Myself and my Mum stayed at Little Byre for a week in September and absolutely loved it. The house is a perfect home from home and has everything you could want or need for a wee break away. The house was spotless on arrival and the wine and biscuits left for us were a nice touch. The view from the back of the house is stunning. You can see all the way to Skiddaw. Just out the back gate is a neighbours field with sheep, goats, horses and Shetland ponies. Always a treat wakening up and popping out to see them first thing. The one and only downside was the parking as we weren't able to park outside the house as the neighbours were nose to tail up the lane. We did however get parked down the road at the pub, the owners were lovely and let us park there all week. We really hope to stay again at Little Byre as it really is a cracking wee house and I'm so glad I stumbled upon it online. You won't regret booking Little Byre, a little piece of Cumbrian paradise.

Perfect!!
Little Byre Found this cottage on the internet and after a few exchanges with owner booked for two weeks holiday as soon as lockdown was lifted to visit family literally round the corner. We are also buying a house in the area and completion went ahead much sooner than expected. In view of this we asked if we could change the dates by two days to allow us to move in while we were up here. The owner very kindly arranged this for us. Booking and paying were easy. On arrival, the cottage was cosy and inviting. Spotlessly clean. There were some lovely touches that made the place homely, but not a lot of clutter and dust gatherers. The sofa in the living room is very comfy. Good lighting to read or dim. The kitchen is excellently well equipped, with a few laminated instructions for the cooker. Easy to read and understand. The outdoor terrace has the most beautiful views, sadly just a little too cold for us to enjoy breakfast out there, but that would be perfect in the summer. The main bedroom is very cosy, with plenty of storage for your luggage. Comfy bed and lovely linen. The second, smaller bedroom is cosy and again lots of storage. We both slept well making our time here even more enjoyable. Plenty of spare towel and pillow. Thanks. The bathroom is very spacious and warm. It was lovely on two evening to treat myself to a long, hot bath, and wrap up in a warm towel. I could not find any faults with this beautiful cottage, and as a bit of a perfectionist, that is rare for me. Hot tip!!!! If you are here on a Friday morning go across to the Grey Goat car park and wait for the butchers van. It is so well stocked with just about everything you need, meat, fruit, veg and the scotch pie was just as I remember tasting as a child. We have had a wonderful two weeks break and although we have now purchased a property near our family, we could recommend a stay in this beautiful cottage to anyone.

Cosy cottage, beautiful views
Lovely cosy cottage in Baggrow. We just spent October half term here, a great break, the house is located a fifteen minute drive from Keswick, a great base for exploring the Lakes. Owners were fabulous with advice and tips. The house was spotless and equipped with everything you could need for a week away. Already looking forward to our next visit!

A peaceful and cosy cottage
Little Byre was our home away from home during a five day trip to the Lakes. The cottage is extremely well equipped and incredibly clean, which made it feel like a little sanctuary to us as we were caught up in some bad weather while we were there! The quiet cottage has everything you could possibly need as well as plenty of storage space. Location wise it is a good base for plenty of the popular towns and villages round about. We didn't use the TV once while we were there as we were too busy testing out the board games!

Idyllic peaceful haven
Spent a relaxing few days in this exceptional cottage. It was absolutely pristine and really well equipped. The location was just perfect for the break we needed with lovely views from the rear of the cottage. Keswick was just a short drive away as was Cockermouth. Can definitely recommend.

Gorgeous little cottage
We needed somewhere to stay for the Keswick Mountain Festival and Little Byre was where we chose. It's an easy 30 minute drive into Keswick so not too out of the way if you want a day trip to town. Although we didn't spend too much time at the cottage we found it very clean and comfortable and really well equipped. Beds were super comfy, especially after an 18 miles walk. But I would suggest getting a heavier curtain on the single room window as the light does come through early during the summer, and the moonlight shines through at night too. The wine and biscuits went down a treat. I can see how parking may have been an issue but we were lucky on our stay and even if you had to park in the next village it was still only 5 minutes to walk back to the cottage so not really a massive issue.

So pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We will take note of your suggestion about the curtain for the smaller bedroom. Noone has ever mentioned it being a problem before but we always aim to please and welcome suggestions for how we can improve the stay of our guests, so thank you for mentioning it. We would always be happy to welcome you back should you wish to stay again.

Cute place, nice new kitchen, quiet location.
My wife and I stayed in Little Byre for four nights in late September. The two-floor interior has had a lot of care put into it...very nice appointments and a new kitchen with new appliances and cookware. The owner sent us a very nice two-page letter detailing places to eat, things to see and do, and other information about the cottage and the area. There is a nice television and fireplace. Because of the nature of the building we share walls with the immediate neighbors, so we were requested to be quiet after 10 and not to flush toilets during the night etc. Little Byre was very clean and cozy and comfortable. The wooden stairway and upper floors creak when walked on, only a problem at night when one wants to be quiet. Also, there is an unexpected step outside the master bedroom door -- leave a light on at night so you see that step! The big problem we encountered had to do with parking. Little Byre sits on a VERY narrow road, wide enough (at best) for a parked car along (within inches of) the building that houses all the cottages, and one traffic lane with so little room to spare that we were requested by the owner and also in person by one of the residents to pull in our side mirror to make room! There are no designated parking spots for each of the cottages, and residents can and do park freely in front of other people's cottages (including a big red SUV in front of Little Byre), so finding a place to park becomes a first come first served situation which could easily have left us with no place to park. The problem was resolved for us because one of the cottages was for sale and unoccupied, so we parked in front of that one. Had that not been the case, we were told by the owner and a somewhat irritated resident to park at the bottom of the hill but the three places there were taken every time we looked. Parking issues aside, Little Byre gave us a quiet place to stay for our daytime forays into the Lake District.

Little Byre
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Byre. The Cottage was warm, comfortable, set in an ideallyc setting and well equipped. We could not ask for more. We ate out most evenings and went to the Lakeside Restaurant (2 miles up the road) which whilst not the cheapest was quality and plentiful with lovely views and friendly service. we would recommend Little Byre to anyone.
