Renowned for its iconic Fofoti trees, this pristine beach beckons a trip. There are low-rise hotels and beach resorts lining the shores, but the beach is mostly quiet. The waters are also relatively calm in the designated swimming zones. Boat tours and water activities like snorkeling and jet skiing are popular here as well. If you're lucky, you may even spot turtles nesting or hatching on the shore between March and September. Eagle Beach is also a popular wedding photoshoot location—many newlyweds come to snap their wedding photos against the blissful Caribbean waters. – Tripadvisor

This stunning black sand beach along the South Coast of Iceland is located beside the small fishing village of Vik i Myrdal. It's known for its dramatic natural landscapes: hexagonal basalt columns, the Halsanefshellir Sea Cave, and large rock formations that rise out of the sea. But be careful when visiting though—the spot is prone to sneaker waves that can crash ashore unexpectedly. Try to keep a safe distance of at least 100 feet from the shoreline, and avoid turning your back towards the waves. This spot is often included as a stop on a full-day tour of the South Coast. – Tripadvisor

This beautiful and accessible beach is known for its powder-like shores, warm Caribbean waters, and the off-coast barrier reef that protects the beach from wild Atlantic swells. You won't find much seaweed, rocks, or pollution here—this untouched beach is part of the protected area of Princess Alexandra National Park. Here, you can sunbathe on the soft white sand, walk along the seemingly endless stretch of beach, and try water activities like diving, snorkeling, sailing, and fishing excursions. Grace Bay Beach is the departure point for catamaran sails, snorkeling tours, day and sunset cruises, and more. – Tripadvisor

This stunning three-mile stretch of sand is regarded as one of North America's best beaches, and it's easy to see why. This former Hawaiian royal getaway has crystal clear waters perfect for snorkeling and surfing, against a backdrop of lush mountains. Don't miss the daily cliff diving ceremony at Pu'u Keka'a (Black Rock), held on the northern end of the beach at sunset. For the best views of the beach, take a scenic flight at sunset. If you visit in winter, be sure to take a whale-watching tour. It gets busy, so visit early in the morning for fewer crowds and to snag a good spot on the sand. – Tripadvisor

As the name suggests, Siesta Beach is a great spot for a lazy and relaxing day in the sun. Lay on its cool, white, and powdery sand, or take a dip in the crystal clear waters. The kids will love collecting the beautifully shaped shells, too. And don't about the kids—there are lifeguards on duty. While there aren't many beachside food options, you can head to the nearby cafes and oyster bars. Get a beachfront condo to make the most of your stay, or visit for the awesome sunset views on an e-bike tour of Siesta Key. There's even a Siesta Beach drum circle on some days. – Tripadvisor

This 3.7-mile-long beach has calm and shallow waters (great for kids to swim in) and plenty of water sports available like parasailing and jet skiing. The beach is divided into four sections and is packed with cafés, bars, and designated play areas. One section is an unofficial "nude beach", and another has sand dunes to explore. You can get sunbeds, umbrellas, and personal lockers for a fee, and there are also free-to-use showers. It's also one of the safest beaches in the world, with more than enough lifeguards on duty and a thorough rescue system in place. – Tripadvisor

This horseshoe-shaped tropical beach is perfect for all manner of activities, from kayaking and water sports to sunbathing and picnicking. Besides working on a tan, locals also recommend hiking along the nature trails for spectacular ocean views from the scenic hillsides—especially from the Mountain Top lookout. As Magens Bay is a popular port of call for cruises and a frequent stop on island tours, it does get busy. If you're looking for some peace and privacy, target the fringe areas and visit on weekdays. There's also an entry fee to the beach. – Tripadvisor

This lagoon is one of the most photographed spots on the island of Crete, with hypnotizing turquoise waters and a panoramic landscape. There are sunbeds and umbrellas for rent and snacks for sale, but you might want to pack a more substantial meal. Also, check the weather conditions in advance, as the beach can get windy. If you’re planning to drive, bring suitable footwear for the steep trek down from the car park to the beach. Visit early in the morning to experience the lagoon at its most tranquil. Getting the ferry from Kissamos Port is a relaxing and convenient way to reach Belos. – Tripadvisor
