The Hudson Valley is absolutely gorgeous in the fall season when the trees along the Hudson River are in full color. There will be plenty of photo opportunities if you get up early enough to see Marist College and Vassar College crew teams on the river. The water temperature is very warm in September and October which creates a steamy fog over the water in the mornings.
Whether you're visiting Poughkeepsie as you're passing through the Hudson Valley area or coming to visit a friend or family member attending Marist or Vassar, plan on temperatures consistent with the North Eastern region. Cold winters and hot summers. The spring and fall are just great times to visit. The flowers and trees in bloom in the spring are breathtaking and you can't beat the folliage in the fall.
