La Jolla has been a destination for over 10 years and eating at “The Cottage” is part of the enjoyment. A restaurant can be evaluated with four parameters: food, service, cost and décor in that order. The food has always been of good quality, tasty and nothing had to be sent back. The Passion Fruit Ice tea is a favorite on a hot day. (4 of 5). Service is timely and courteous. They show up right away for seating and at high volume times there may be a wait for the table, but they never ignore you, (5 of 5). The cost is in line with other breakfast – lunch places in La Jolla, (3 of 5). The décor outside is plastic chairs, wide tables, clean and heaters on a cool day. The outside patio is the place to be, (3 of 5). This puts it in the 4 range and return visits are the norm. Enjoy!
