Two of the best areas in the city center for people-watching are on Kamergersky Pereulok and on Arbat Street (often called "Old Arbat" or "Stary Arbat").  Of course, there are lots of places to sit and watch people pass by all over the city, but these two locations offer busy pedestrian streets, without all the vehicle traffic and noise, and they are lined with cafes, coffee shops and restaurants which, particularly in summer when you can sit outside, allow you to relax, enjoy a drink and/or a meal and watch the passers-by.
