Manali is one place that is liked by so many tourists for romantic getaways and adventure sports. It is the place where you can enjoy Snow sports like Skiiing, Paragliding, River Rafting, Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, Trekking and Mountaneering etc.
There are few tips when you are in Manali and want to go around;
1. If you are planning to use the local transport, then make sure you carry cash in small denominations. The public transport service is good and the buses are average in condition. In all this is the cheapest mode of transport and will take approx the same time as any other transport.
2. If you are planning to hire a taxi to travel, then these are few tips..... there is a taxi association under which all taxi's ply. This association has a rate list that is predecided. So before booking or committing to rates, kindly ask for the rate list and compare. Most of the points mentioned in the itinarary are useless stuff and mostly enroute the main point. So check the points before stopping to make sure that the place is worth a visit or not.
3. Do not completely trust the driver/s. They have a nexus with every other places like restaurant, Skiing, Snow Gear Rental hiring etc. So check/compare the rates and be sure before paying.
4. Manali's down town is the best place to eat. If you want Indian food, then there are plenty of options in the main street like Mayur Restaurent and Sher-e-Punjab Restaurent. And for Chinese and Tibetan Try Chopsticks Restaurent and Mount View. For those who prefer less spicy food, there is a German Bakery and many Italian cafe's where serve very good Pasta's, Pizza's, Sandwitches and Rolls.
