Dear fellow world travellers.

Good day,

Here goes some tips on crossing the Angolan Border:

When travelling to Luanda it is essential to have the correct paperwork .Those who do not have valid passports, visas or Yellow Fever vaccination certificates will have problems when they arrive or depart. There are immigration and customs laws which we must follow as with entry to any country and you follow all the  processes then it is unlikely that you will have any problem.

Personal items brought to Luanda in baggage

There are restrictions on what you can and cannot bring to Luanda in accompanied or unaccompanied baggage. You must know the rules on this in exactly the same way as entry/exit from any other country. Failure to meet the requirements can result in the payment of duties, sometimes up to 50% of the value of the item, or can result in confiscation and fines. Enclosed is a web link which provides the current rules on bringing goods/currency into and out of Luanda.

Hope this can be useful and not coming too late.

Rgds,
