The Jewish Quarter is called the Call Jeue, and it is one of the largest and best preserved in Europe. It is located beside the Cathedral. It is a place of narrow streets with stone steps and paved with cobblestones and is like a labyrinth. Calle de la Força is the main street and during Roman times it was the center of trade in Girona. There is a Museum of Jewish History and the Museum of City History located in the area. There are many small and interesting stores also that one can investigate. There used to be a synagogue and the famous Kabbalistic School was founded here, which was the first in Spain.
