While once a wool and textile town with a reputation as England's most polluted city, Bradford has graduated and become a town with many offerings for the visitor looking for a great shopping experience.
Debenham's is England's major department store, with locations all over the country, including Bradford, but Walmart it ain't. (Bradford does have walmart but it is known here as ASDA in the UK) What it
is is an upbeat, elegantly stylish store with everything you might want or need. Littlewoods Extra (or LX) is another store in Bradford offering men's, women's, and children's clothing, as well as household items, jewelry, and gifts.
Robert Bland Limited is a purveyor of clocks and weather equipment. Established in 1873, the company is still family-owned, and also offers desk accessories, leatherware, and jewelry. Take Junior or Little Missy to Baby Care, a no-nonsense named and no-nonsense provider of everything a new family needs.
Pack your knitting needles in case of a rainy day while in Bradford, and visit Cold Spring Mill where you'll find discount yarn. Pick up some baby wool and sit in the Tea Room with a spoht-a-tay while you knit those mittens for Junior of Litte Miss (see above). Tariq Gift Centre is strictly local and has the spelling to prove it. Here you can find gifts, novelties, and souvenirs, something of which you surely can't leave Bradford without.
