Starting in Lenham and ending at the coastline near Sandwich, the Stour Valley Walk makes for an easy 50 mile week-long walk with very reasonable distances. Although you rarily walk beside the river itself, you cross fields and pass through charming little villages along the way. Wye is a education-oriented town with a lovely church, Chilham is the quintessential English town, Canterbury a wonderful cathedral and Sandwich is delightful and very "olde-worlde". At Sandwich, you can connect to the Saxon Shore Way quite easily. B&B and pubs are well-spaced. Some highlights include a meal at the Goods Shed in Canterbury and Edmund House B&B in Deal (if one continues along the Saxon Shore Way). The Kent County Council puts out an excellent, detailed guidebooks with adequate maps.
