Cabbagetown is one of Toronto's older neigbourhoods and there's a lot of neat stuff there. For example, the Riverdale Farm is a working farm right in the middle of the city. It's a family favorite with lots of animals for the kids to see. Events are scheduled in the adjacent park and it was actually the original zoo. It's also the home of great food and shopping. There's a little known but wonderful French cafe called Merry Berry that serves delicious and inexpensive food. For stuff for your home, there are some vintage style reproduction Edison lightbulbs at Kendall & Co. The MeToWe store has ethical fashion and North America's only Fairtrade certified jeweller, called not surprisingly, the Fair Trade Jewellery Co. is also in this neigbourhood.
