Blink and you’re in Bavaria. Frankenmuth is modeled after a traditional German village, with storybook architecture, cobblestoned streets, and a covered wooden bridge. To get a real feel for the town, reserve a table at Zehnder’s restaurant (the schnitzel and chicken dinner are legendary) and check in for the night at the Bavarian Inn. The best way to explore Frankenmuth is via horse-drawn carriage, although the pedal trolleys and river cruises are fun, too.
