“An absolute gem”

We just spent New Year at Ings and it could not have been better. The location was fabulous - just off the A66 and on the outskirts of Threlkeld village, so rural but not isolated. It is one of those rare places where the views are even better than the photographs can convey. The walking from the house is excellent and there is something for all - various members of our party did walks up Blencathra, Lonscale Fell and the lovely easy ramble to Keswick along the old railway path (as well as the stroll to the v good pub!).

The facilities were also great. We had plenty of room, the beds were warm and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped if a little old (but the owner tells us it will be updated this year, which is even better). The washer and dryer served well, the property manager dropped off plenty of wood and we didn't want for anything except, perhaps, a pair of oven gloves. We have already booked to return and will now be thoroughly disappointed if we ever have to stay anywhere else in the Lake District.

“A lovely property in s stunning location”
Reviewed 16 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We stayed at Ings with 3 generations of the family to celebrate my daughter's birthday and the property suited us all. It is ideally situated just off the A66, yet in the middle of the stunning countryside There was ample space for us all to be together and yet find a quiet space if anyone wanted a bit of 'time out'. The property was very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfy beds. The property manager was extremely prompt in sorting out the mystery of the missing high chair - thanks Barbara. The two pubs in the village serve great food but are a good 20 minute walk away along unlit country roads so plenty of torches will be needed if you plan to walk after dark. All in all a wonderful stay and would definitely consider returning to this lovely property.

“Awesome stay - Just perfect!”
Reviewed 23 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

So we stayed here for a family reunion and everything about this property was just easy! A great location no more than 5 minutes drive from Keswick and you can even walk or cycle there from great walk routes from the front door. Behind is Blencathra if you wanted altitude from your back door to!! Lots of local activities too that are walkable, stone circle and mine and the Threkeld tea shop is a cake Aladdin's cave!

The house itself is a great layout with two lounges and anything and everything you will need! An immense DVD collection and for the kids it was just fantastic... toy boxes and dress up just adding little extras that make you smile!

Basically a great stay - you will wishing for the rain so you can stay indoors by the fire!!

“A magnificent view from every window!”
Reviewed 27 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Just had a week long holiday at this beautiful house with family. 7 adults and 1 toddler, the toddler loved exploring inside and outside the house. Enjoyed cosy nights in playing the good selection of board games. Everything we could need was available but just could not locate oven gloves, so we improvised with towels, not a problem.
