Stopped in here for lunch while in town on business. Enjoyed the egg, bacon, cheese wrap. Homemade ice tea was a bit weak/watery. Nice atmosphere.

Great place for coffee, breakfast and lunch. Friendly, fun staff. I am a little biased because I live in Lakefield and I go there quite often for coffee-dark roast. It's a nice place to relax and watch the village go by!

My husband and I had a great lunch which included a sandwich, coffee and the most amazing butter tart we have ever eaten. My friend had a chicken, pear, blue cheese, walnut salad that she said was the best salad she had ever eaten. The price was good, staff friendly and café clean (can't ask for much more) for a casual meal. Enjoyed the entire experience and will be going back again!

Important to note, The Nutty Bean Café is the new name for the "Nuttshell Next Door Café" so the reviews from the other need to be cross referenced here. We stopped here on Sunday morning to meet up with some other folks. We were surprised to find people lined up outside waiting for their 10 a.m. opening time (they ended up unlocking at 10:05 which made one person at the start of the line a wee bit cross). There is no table service, you go to a take-out type window, then if you are ordering something that needs to be cooked, you take a number to your table and they deliver it to you. Otherwise, you take your own food to a table. We thought we would get a table once we had placed our order, only to find that other people in line had split up to "reserve a table" so we had nowhere to sit. Fortunately, there is a bench a few doors down in front of the bank so we got our coffee in to-go cups. The muffin was average, a bit dry for my husband's taste. The coffee was very strong, almost "fuzzy" feeling (glad we didn't go for the bold LOL). They have assorted boxed teas to choose from. They had a few flavours of muffins, some cookies and scones ready to serve. Some people were ordering breakfast foods (given the absence of a table we passed on a substantial breakfast). The area to put cream and/or sugar in your coffee is in the line area between the take out counter and the door that people were trying to hold open while they balanced their orders or waited to place an order. Not good if you are trying to hold anything or have accessibility needs (probably fine when they are not lined up). Anyway, we likely won't stop here again, but there are many other places in the area on our road trip coffee/snack list. P.S., a bit pricy for the quality and no gluten free options

Had some of the most tasteless carrot soup ever.....actually it was carrot-potato, probably not a great combination. Also a Curry chicken w apple wrap that wasn't very interesting........ok, I guess. My partner enjoyed her egg and crispy bacon on a bagle....although they don't use real bagels. That's unfortunate, since they actually have some people in Lakefield who make boiled and woodfire oven baked bagels.

The Italian sodas were fine.
