The hotel refused to honour our booking and left us stranded as a family in the middle of the night. They even refused to entertain phone calls from Agoda's executives, Agoda is the portal through which we booked.

This hotel is really pathetic. I had a real bad experience staying here. Location is 7 - 8 kms from Palampur, which is ok if you are looking for just one night stay. But rooms are just pathetic with no cleanliness, dirty blankets, dirty bed sheets, so many mosquitoes and other insects, full of cockroaches etc.... the parking space is also horrible...you really need to climb Himalayas rock to park your vehicle...very very risky.....The hotel staff is very rude and harsh...totally non-cooperating specially the middle aged Manager and his daughter.... Please don't dare to check-in....
We stopped on a locals recommendation and had perhaps the best meal ever- the yellow dal was perfect, the palak paneer fresh with taste, the raita, the mixed sabzi... glorious! Four of us packed it all in for 650 rupees!

We stayed at this hotel for almost a week. The rooms are basic and neat but the service is awesome. We were very well taken care of by the owner. The food at the restaurant is great and do try the thupka and momos, highly recommeneded
We truly enjoyed our stay at Thamsar. We were there a few days booked through Cleartrip and then almost a week as part of a conference. The room was basic, but pretty clean. The service was great! Highly recommend it.
