We were in Mata Gorda Puerto del Carrmen recently. The Auld triangle is in the centre of the shopping centre. The proprieters Dave and Marie Murphy are very welcoming. you get good value for your money. good home-cooked food and a mug of tea/coffee. The Sunday Roast dinner is superb. They have a karaoke in the bar nightly. very entertaining and some great singers.

Came here for a drink and a snack during our second day and the young girl who served us was very polite and sweet :). Food was nice also. We then came here on our second last night for drinks, which to our surprise was again a karaoke night (which we didn't mind though but too shy to participate lol.) Sadly we didn't get the man's name who was holding the night, but he was very funny and loved the banter! He called my fiancé a directioner (cos of his hair and baby face I assume, just like the boys in one direction!) Which was hilarious and he carried the joke on quite a bit, which my fiancé was slightly embarrassed about but saw the funny side nonetheless. Drinks were cheap again as per usual in this area and I loved how passionate, happy and again the banter everyone was having in this nice little bar! Am now also hoping to have a holiday to Scotland or Ireland at some point now too due to the fact of how friendly, down to earth and straight talking they are! Which I truly admire and love in people (I'm not Irish but do have a bit of Scottish in me :)). We will be back to Lanzarote no doubt one year and if we are around this area again, you can bet we will be visiting here again! :)

We have just returned from 3 weeks in Matagorda where we spent most nights in the best bar on the island. You will always get a friendly "hello where are you from?" when you go into the bar from Dave (the boss), and the lovely Maria ,Dave junior is his friendly son, not forgetting the lovely Kelly, and barman Mario. Of course I have to mention the Voice of Ireland Kevin Keeley who entertained us with his songs and jokes. In the Triangle everyone is asked to sing at karaoke time whether you can sing or not and singers are always given good applause. Dave encourages shy people to join in and is usually successful. We had our 40th wedding anniversary here last year and it was brilliant and this year being our 41st anniversary there was only one place to be, The Auld Triangle. Again it was a fantastic night which we enjoyed with everyone who were in the bar. Dave kept saying that we were a honeymoon couple until our last night there and then he said it was our 41st anniversary and presented us with a bottle of champagne (again). We met so many lovely people in the Triangle as we always do and this time we met "Pato" who is a brilliant entertainer with a great voice .For the best evenings entertainment this has to be THE best place to go to for friendliness and fun on the island. We can't wait to return to our home from home so we can meet old friends and make new ones. We may even join in with the karaoke next time. Al our love to ALL our friends past and present at the Auld Triangle. Ken and Barbie.....
