“Super holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2012

We went to the Alba Resort 28th July-11th August. Having read the reviews we were expecting a good time and we were not disappointed. Boring stuff first, the hotel was spotless, rooms cleaned daily, plenty of choice in the restaurant. Breakfast especially nice with freshly cooked omellettes and bacon every other day. Drinks whenever you needed and a special mention to Feliz who kept my husband (Richard Gere) well hydrated throughout the evening. Plenty of sunbeds round the pool, the beach was superb aswell only a 5 minute work away, watch out for scorching sand! My son Tom enjoyed the archery, darts and rifle shooting and following Olga round trying to sell some Animation t-shirts. Richard Gere (my husbands new name) joined in the pool games and had a good laugh with the Animation team. The animation team were so good at their jobs, worked really hard day and night to make our holiday special. Kemal,Maylou, Olga, Mustafa you were brilliant, keep up the good work, we hope to return again next year and the year after etc, etc - Fantastic hotel, fantastic 2 weeks oh and the weather was scorching aswell !lol

This was a fantastic hotel with an excellent animation team. The holiday wouldn't have been the same without them. Although I only joined in the water aerobics, I enjoyed watching the other holiday makers taking part in various water sports and competitive games - hilarious. The team worked hard from their arrival each day right to the end of the day and beyond - always smiling and the shows they performed were brilliant. The food was beautiful with lots of choice. Many places to eat. The bar staff were very good at remembering what you liked to drink. You could choose to relax in peace and quiet or enjoy the range of activities on offer. Immaculately clean and beautifully presented.

Just returned from the Alba (3rd Aug - 17th Aug) and what a fantastic holiday. We booked this holiday about 10 weeks before we went and booked it based on the price and reviews and what a great choice. There were 5 of us myself, partner, our 12 year old son and my in-laws.
We've been to Turkey many times and this is the most friendly hotel we've been to.
There were a few negatives but the positives out weighed them.
All the staff are a credit to the hotel, all of them work so hard and are always polite and friendly. A special mention to Filiz the waitress who always remembered what we were drinking and never let us have an empty glass, Ghenkiskhan (waiter), Gokhan the bar man who would have my drink ready for me on the bar and the brilliant animation team Mustafar, Kemal and Maylou.
The rooms are on the small side, but ok for us. Very clean. Beware when you get in/out of the shower, the bath has very high sides. I kept thinking I was going to fall out and smack my head on the sink!! There is tea & coffee, sometimes they forgot to replace these, so I just got more from the restaurant. The mini fridge is replaced daily with 2 bottles of Fanta, Pepsi, Sprite and water.
There was always plenty of seating available at all the restaurants.
The food was the normal for an AI.
Breakfast : Cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit,Cheese, ham, lovely omelettes, fried eggs, scrambled eggs (nice, but cold!), bacon twice a week, etc. and strangely sometimes brussell sprouts! If you wanted fresh orange juice you had to pay, but there is a choice of juices from the dispenser.
Lunch : we only went to the restaurant once, we ate at the pool snack bar or the beach bar. Burgers, pizza, lovely Turkish flat bread, fish of the day, chicken burgers, chicken etc.
Dinner: Choice of meats, chicken, turkey, fish, lovely salads, pasta, veg, Kids buffet, desserts, fruit.
There was always plenty of choice and my son who is very fussy always found something he liked.
Drinks: Beer. Not much choice of AI spirits only vodka, gin or brandy. The cocktails were my favorite. The wine was nice and they did a sparkling wine if you wanted something not too alcoholic. The iced coffee was lovely, I think I became addicted to it. All the usual fizzy drinks and slush puppies.
Ice cream : Cornets and ice lollies available 3pm - 6pm.
Cakes: available all day in the pool snack bar.
There is an Italian and fish restaurant. We preferred the fish one and went there twice. It's in the beach bar with gorgeous views over the beach at sunset.
Entertainment: Excellent. The animation team work so hard to make your holiday special. They remember everyone's name. There are pool games, archery, air rifle, belly dancing, water aerobics, table tennis, darts etc. My son enjoyed the football and met many friends by playing.
The animation team would ask if you wanted to join in, but there was no pressure.
Shows: We didn't really watch any, but could hear them from the bar and some sounded better than others. People who watched them said they were good and a lot of effort went into them.
Beach : A nice walk down to the beach, which is lovely and clean with plenty of sunbeds.Paragliding and other water sports available. Pancakes cooked while you wait.
Pool: The pool area was very clean. No problems getting sunbeds at 8am and some still available at 10.30/11.00am. Never known a hotel to be like this! The relax pool had sunbeds available all day. Pool/beach towels are in your room on arrival and can be changed daily.
The pool let the hotel down it wasn't as clean as it should be and had broken tiles. Lots of kids and adults had ear infections (ear plugs available in the hotel shop) and someone cut their toe. Once the hotel was made aware of the problems they tried to rectify them by calling in the men from head office. They put a slab of marble over the broken tiles and were going to speak to the pool company. Also be aware that if you have white on your swim wear it might turn green/yellow.
The hotel is spotlessly clean and the gardens are very well kept.
There is a dolmus stop right outside the hotel for the dolmus that goes to Side. We went twice and ate at 'The End' restaurant with it's fresh fish dishes.
There are a few shops outside the hotel if you don't want to venture into Side.
Everyone was so friendly it would take ages to get anywhere as everyone would stop and chat. We met so many great families, and made many new friends. A truly relaxing holiday, one of the best, Would we return? Yes we would.

We went for 2 weeks at the beginning of Aug and it was out of this world, it was our honeymoon with our 2 young kids (1 &3) and what a place to go for it, we arrived and got our bags taken in for us to the reception desk and asked if we wanted a drink straight away, booking in was nice and quick, room was lovely all decorated with the bedding and towels in shapes of hearts.

Everyday the rooms were done with different shapes and even the kids pj's on their beds, air con was great even a bit too cold at times but with the temp outside being high 40's it was lovely to walk back in the room and feel, the mini bar was always filled up with water and soft drinks.

The food was great, there was a couple of times that nothing took our fancy but there was plenty of choice whether it was breakfast, dinner or tea, the staff were very friendly and always helpful and were great with the kids. The bar staff were always cheerful and helpful aswell, even the pool bar and restaurant staff after visiting there a few time knew what you wanted and our drinks were on the table within seconds and in plastic cups with straws for the kids, they always made a fuss over the kids and made them laugh. The Italian restaurant was great, although it was al la cart it was a 5 course meal and we was so full afterwards.

The entertainment was good in the evening and throw out the day time aswell, lots to do for the kids with kids club and for the older kids aswell and the best thing with the staff is that they never pressured you to come and join in. The pools were nice and clean and even when the little pool got dirty they came around and cleaned it straight away, the quiet pool was good for the little kids as it had a little slide even for the babies to go down and our son loved it. The main thing with the pools was the floor being too hot for the kids so take some plastic footwear for them. We had ice cream everyday and the kids made the most of the 3 hours it was opened for.

We all went for a few walks around the hotels and down to the shops which was lovely and even in the shops the owners didn't bug you to come in and buy things which was good, the shop in the hotel had everything that we needed and when we needed medication for our daughters ear infection we got it no probs.

We got a late check out which came in handy as we left at 1730 so our check out was 1600, even when the coach came our bags were taken to the coach and everyone was very friendly and said goodbye and we even got a goodbye present of local biscuits.

All we can say is the hotel was great, staff were great, food was great, entertainment was good just go there and test it yourself and would love to go back again in the near future, thank you to the rep for all your when we got there and as we left.

Just one last thing there was a few kids complaining of ear infections so if need be take ear plugs for them and tell them to keep them in in the pool....................and enjoy your stay!!!!!!!!

Just got back from a lovely two week stay at the Alba Resort Hotel. No complaints at all about the staff or the hotel. I myself would of liked it to be a bit more busier outside of the hotel( more shops). Lovely pools, great beach party. We drank every evening at the pool bar. I would just like to mention Filiz who looked after us very well indeed at the pool bar.
