The facade which gives the historical appeal of the church has been preserved however, renovation is apparent inside.

This structure is located in a highway and has a new view of the sea.

A nice place to visit.

It is around 25 mins away from Virac, the city of Catanduanes. The outside structure is still preserved while the inside of the church is already renovation. The church is made of stone. It is a quite place to pray.

July 29, 2016. On our way to Puraran Beach, we visited one of the oldest church in Catanduanes. It is popularly known as Bato Church, but to the Iocals it is Saint John the Baptist Church.
The church on the mound is visible from the road way. It's old plastered stones was well preserved, likewise the overall shell structure of the church. I love the stained glass windows, the old cast iron grills, the pebbled walkways, and the old bass guitar I saw inside the church. There were however some notable improvements on the altar, ceiling, flooring and interior finishings.
Another feature that I like to mention was the beauty the way the big wooden church doors open to the surrounding garden and bending river infront. Simply nostalgic.
