“Wonderful holiday home”

Beautiful cottage, well placed to explore North York Moors and Dales, easy to find and good parking. Well appointed holiday let, with all mod cons and the bonus of three bathrooms and one extra toilet.the owner, Missy, gave us a warm welcome and showed us around the cottage, there was milk and a homemade cake in the fridge. We also enjoyed Missy cooking an Asian curry for us on one evening, wonderful, do try. The owners have gone to great lengths to get this right, we really enjoyed our stay. We were a party of four adults.

“Lovely property and great Landlady!!”
Reviewed 26 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We have just returned today following a week's holiday at Beechwood Cottage. Very comfortable and our hosts were wonderful. Missy cooked a Curry for our group of four on Wednesday which was enjoyed by all of us. If you are looking for a quiet location with good accommodation then look no further that these two cottages. Easily accessible to loads of towns and villages in North Yorkshire. Must eat at the Dudley Arms in Ingelby Green How. We had three lovely meals there and it was only two miles from the cottage. Great location for a wonderful time exploring Yorkshire. Try it for yourselves. We recommend it.

“Great Location - Very Peaceful”
Reviewed 5 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We booked Beechwood Cottage for a long weekend away with friends (5 people in total) and overall we had a very comfortable stay. The hosts were very welcoming even leaving us a welcome treat!

The cottage is down a small country lane and shares a drive with a neighbouring property. Beechwood Cottage is adjoined by Elmwood Cottage and the owners property adjoins this. Parking was very tight (as we had 3 cars between us and the residents of Elmwood had 1 car) but we managed. The cottage was very clean and appeared newly painted and fitted out. The fixtures were all of a good standard and the beds very comfy. It was handy to have an en-suite with each double room and the bathroom (no shower) was along it's own corridor so effectively a private bathroom for the twin room.

The living space was quite compact though there were seats for 6 at the dining table and for 6 in the lounge area. There was a dishwasher and washing machine which are useful though there was a lack of Pyrex-type dishes/bowls if you want to make a casserole/lasagne so bring your own if you want to do some cooking! Otherwise there were plenty of utensils and crockery etc. There is wifi which was handy as mobile reception was patchy.

Outside there is a small pebble patio and a grassy area, the weather wasn't good enough for us to sit out so not sure if there is any outside furniture. There were fields at the back with sheep and lambs and plenty of walks including up to Captain Cooks Monument, Roseberry Topping and to the nearest village Great Ayton, where there is a small supermarket, newsagent and pub. You can also drive to Whitby and the coast so plenty to see and do in the local area.

We had a very enjoyable stay and I think the cottage is ideally suited to a small family or perhaps two couple's who like to be away from it all.

“Excellent place to stay and fantatsic views”
Reviewed 27 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

The place overall was very comfortable and clean.... the log fire was a great feature.

Everything was at hand and two villages very close by, Missy & Tan were exceptionally helpful if you needed anything.

They thought of everything....Parking could have been a problem if we had had a car, Ten said that would be sorted soon. Such engaging hosts made us feel very welcome.
