“Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting”
Reviewed 23 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We have just arrived back from our stay at Clos Des Pelissous. The property has only just been renovated and we were the first to use it. so everything is brand new! It really has the wow factor with its combination of contemporary fixtures in a tastefully restored stone barn setting. The kitchen has absolutely everything you could need with enough crockery for 8 people should you decide to entertain! The owners, Lydie and David were extremely courteous and helpful but did not intrude on our stay at all. The grounds including the pool area are beautifully maintained and the wildlife surrounding this tranquil setting includes Hoopoes foraging in the garden.- a real treat for anyone interested in birdlife. There are loads of places within a short driving distance and so we had a very active holiday although if you are looking for somewhere quiet for a romantic break this is definitely the place to come. Our thanks to Lydie and David for their very kind hospitality. We will be back.

“A fantastic place to stay”
Reviewed 23 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We booked Le Cep for our honeymoon and we had a fantastic stay. Lydie and David have recently bought Clos des Pelissous and have sympathetically refurbished everything so the building retains its pretty historical charm but is clean and comfortable. It was such a lovely surprise because the website photos hadn't been updated at that point!
Le Cep has private parking, private terrace with lovely views over the valley (gets lots of sun throughout the day), a large spacious open plan kitchen / dining and living room area downstairs with everything you need including a CD player, coffee making, BBQ and a cork screw, two bedrooms upstairs (the master bedroom has a lovely big comfy bed) and separate toilet and shower room again, all clean and new.
Needless to say the outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, each surrounded with spring / summer flowers and lovely views just made our holiday perfect. As Lydie and David also live in one of the buildings that make up Les Clos, they have also considered their guests privacy, which we appreciated. So there were no nosey neighbours butting in when we were in the jacuzzi!
We chose Le Cep because we wanted to stay in Pecharment (a brill wine area) in the Dordogne region - in a quiet place surrounded with vineyards away from the tourists but not too far away from civilisation. So we were pleased that the immediate area was green and quiet but the large supermarkets with everything you could possibly want including all local produce nice and cheap were a ten minute drive away, with Bergerac about 15 mins (market days are Wednesday and Saturday) and other lovely towns like Baynac which is also a good place to drift lazily down the Dordogne in a canoe, Sarlat etc. about 45 mins in the car.
We didn't look very hard but I don't think there's a restaurant within walking distance. There is an amazing one in Queyssac called Le Brasserie de Presbytere. Heaven. Queyssac is a good place to go walking as well and about 10 mins in the car (20 mins on the pushbike one way but 30 mins coming back after two bottles of wine). I nearly fell off the bike laughing at the two of us cycling along in our posh clothes.

All this coupled with an easy flight out of East Midlands on Ryanair makes this place an excellent place to stay for a relaxing week.
