A family owned hotel that will make you feel like you are apart of the family, very kind people, very good service, good traditional breakfast, large swimming pool, comfortable parking, rooms with balcony, large garden, traditional stone building, one minute walk from the center of Areopolis that has everything, 5 minutes with car from Limeni, 10 minutes with car from Diros Caves, 20 minutes with car from Maurovouni beach, 40 minutes with car from the southest point of mainland europe (Tainaro village). I will definitely visit this hotel again. Thank you

Mani, and especially Inner Mani, is not what foreign travellers think of when they hear the word "Greece". Yet, with this very well located hotel, you can go for it: when driving off the parking lot, you can enter the town (better do that walking, though), or choose one of the main roads that start from the crossing nearby. The staff, although very helpful and gentle, seemed a bit awkward, as if they weren't in the hotel business until very recently, and luckily we had a Greek speaking person in our little group. Other than that (meaning "not really orientated towards English speaking mass tourism... yet"), our stay was a very pleasant one, being received, each time we entered the building, as relatives. Since, at that moment, we were the only guests, they struggled a bit making the breakfast look as abundant as Peloponnese breakfasts tend to look, especially since the breakfast room clearly had been designed for much larger groups of people. But other than that, a very fine stay, and the very spot to be when planning to explore Inner Mani.

The hotel's location is really good - just a 3 min walk from Areopolis' bars and taverns and really convenient to drive to Mani's beaches from.
The hotel owner and his family -who run the hotel- are really helpful and polite and will really make you feel like home. The rooms are clean and the pool is really nice, suitable for small kids too. Breakfast is home made and includes freshly cooked traditional delicacies of the region. We would gladly stay there again...

We visited the Maini Castle hotel some years back and I just came across it while reading about Mani. The hotel is situated in the heart of historic Mani in Areopoli which is approximately 3 hours from Athens. Our room was ok I can say with a kind of traditional style. Like all other buildings in the area the whole structure is stone-built.
The place here is unique for a starting point to different excursions like the Stone-Built-Tower Villages of Mani, the Monasteries of Byzantine MYSTRAS, famous and most popular MONEMVASIA, KARDAMILI, the cosmopolitan STOUPA, and even KALAMATA, and the Caves of DYROS.
The owners are kind and always helpful and will guide tourists move about to the different sites if they are asked to.
I cannot say that we had a beautiful view from the room we had but most of the time we were out. It was just fields with really many stones and prickly pear plants which were really all over.
What we enjoyed more though was breakfast. We found home made delicacies –everything home made and good quality honey since the owners are honey producers. There are jars of honey on sale and one can buy from the owners’ produce directly.

the hotel was very clean and the braekfast was nice and based on the local cuisine, the room was very comfortable. However the heating was off and the air condition was so noisy and not enough blankets in the room. We went for breakfast on time but most trays were empty and we hardly found someone to make us some tea and bring some orange juice. Next day although we went for breakfast on time, buffet was already closed. The first day there was no hot water due to a problem some towels were so old. I really advice that they should invest on maintainance and services.
By the way Arepolis is wonderful!!!
