This charming restaurant was a favorite discovery during our trip to Tuscany. Located by the town's ancient gate or "Porto," we were shown to the terrace where we were cool under a huge tree despite the heat.

The bread basket was sinfully delicious and the wine that we chose crisp and delicious. But it was the amazing tagliatelle di Tartuffe that brought us back more than once! A-may-zing! Conversation stopped and our table was silent except for the approving sounds made as this dish was consumed!

The food is really very bad. A roasted chicken turns out to be a deep fried chicken. If I wanted that I would have gone to kfc. The surprise appetizer is also very bad. Hardly any taste and it feels like you're eating the left overs from a couple of days ago. Service is lousy. All in all an experience one would like to forget asap. The narcissist chef speaks highly of himself on page one if the menu. Time for a reality check. If you want decent food in this town, go to the restaurant slightly opposite of this one. A much better experience.

Had lunch there today on the smaller covered terrace. Lovely ambience with views over the countryside. Food was excellent with all the Tuscan tastes plus the Chef's additions.

We stopped in this quaint Medieval town for lunch. At this restaurant we got our best lesson on eating gluten free in Italy. As my wife is gluten free, we thought Italy would be huge challenge. Turns out it wasn't. They do have better tasting GF pasta than the states. However here is a big key to eating gluten free in Italy and the waitress showed us: Associazione Italiana Celiachia (AIC). Look for that sticker in the window of the restaurant. Or write it down and show it to the waiter. There wasn't one restaurant in 10 days that didn't understand what it meant. As for the food here, it was very good. They did a fresh pasta, ricotta, tomato, bacon and pear dish that was unbelievable. My wife had the GF version and loved it. This was a good tasting and educational stop.

I loved this resaurant. We kind oif stumbled on to it while visiting this beautiful, unique midevil city.
First they brought out the best balsamic and oive oil with a beautiful basket of different types of bread and breadsticks. OMG!!! So great. We were there for lunch so I decided to have a salad and pasta. This was so fresh that I savored every bite. Everyone at the table was impressed with the meal. I also loved that this restaurant did not serve all the same menu that most of italy seem to offer. There is alot of unique items on the menu. Not only was the food awesome but the restaurant is beautiful and the patio has a great view of the city. This is a must!!!
