My wife and I had a wonderful 6 day vacation. The premise was amazing and well kept. The food was excellent! We stayed in a Rondoval butler suite with private pool and outside hot tube. My wife loved the room, bathroom, showers both indoor and out door. Our butlers Clyness and Malikia were amazing and did a great job catering to us. The restaurant staff were awesome... couldn't do enough for us Augustus, the chef, in Bayside Restaurant went out of his way to make sure all were cooked to perfection.. the beach was excellent.. the only minor negative was the 1 1/2 hour drive to / from the airport

We have stayed at a few Sandals resorts and this was an exceptional one, mainly due to staff, décor and layout of the resort. Had amazing food as expected, variety in abundance even for a 7 night stay. We holidayed with friends to which this was their first experience at Sandals and they enjoyed it immensely. Plenty to do, or not, if you prefer and the variation of areas to which you can sun bathe on or off the beach, around the many pools, in some cases, really attractive and abundant lounging to which did not require reservation or additional costs like the cabanas. The views from the beach across Rodney Bay and out to the wider ocean, amazing and delightful, great place to watch the many ships that pass, as well as those that visit overnight in the bay. A big thank you especially to Sharlene and Val (mainly in Barefoot by the Sea) who really made our daily visits for lunch and the occasional evening so enjoyable, fun and welcoming. Both are great company and always attentive, they really are a credit to Sandals! The weather was great despite the indication of rain, well it did rain, for a few minutes! Great views of Pigeon Island and this is a great walk/expedition in close proximity to the resort. Gordon's was special, Barefoot by the Sea is fantastic for casual dining and fun! Mariners was good for lunch as well as The Jerk Shack, very hot and spicy! Bayside for breakfast was great for variety, the French cuisine in the evening is worth a visit. Both Toscanini's and Bombay were delicious tempting any palate. We met regularly in the Olde London Pub, but never ate there, but it always seemed busy. Dino's offered small, light based authentic pizza's great if you fancy a snack amongst you. Only managed coffee in Joesphines, so not sure about the crepe's.... We all had an amazing time, disappointed to be home, but guess one holiday has to end so as another can start....if you fancy a bit of everything, try this, we most certainly will be going back soon!

Good points: restaurants are amazing, not one bad place did we experience, food beautiful. Coffee - like going to Costa, cookies, ice cream, pizzas, gym and gym classes [I tried yoga and thoroughly enjoyed]. Some of the staff very friendly but not all. pool and beach service for drinks.

Bad points: Spa staff, were rude and constantly just focussed on selling and upselling - drove us mad when all we wanted was a massage. My Husband had bad sunburn and they were trying to sell us a long massage. No consideration for what was best for him but their commission. Staff on the reception not friendly. WIFI was constantly poor. TV in rooms need updating. I would question some areas of hotel whether 5 star - a bit dated. Every day pushing stuff through door - no consideration for environment - useless comments and poems on.

Overall though a nice break. Not sure we would return - life outside the hotel very different [take a walk pass the security guards on the beach] and the drive from the airport isn't good - roadworks and accidents - takes 2 hours after a long flight.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room away from main pool - very noisy

We went here for our 30th anniversary. It was our first time visiting St. Lucia and a Sandals. We booked our stay through a travel agent, but if I had to do it again, I would book it myself, as the agent (who most likely gets a commission) tried to push all kinds of extras on us. We did sign up for the club level, but it really wasn’t necessary, because we could have booked the excursions ourselves and, although the wine and cheese tasting and martini night were nice, all the alcohol is free anyway. The agent tried to push the butler service on us, but I think that is really only necessary if someone has mobility issues once they are on the beach or at poolside.

We loved all the food and drinks at Sandals and the wonderful service. A few things to be aware of: 1. Don’t go to the Italian restaurant if you are in a hurry and 2. The serving sizes are small compared to American restaurants and the amount of vegetables with an entree is even smaller. The entertainment was fun, including using the gym, doing aqua aerobics, and playing pool volleyball. The beach BBQ party and show were great, as were the dinner time singers/musicians. A special shout-out to Marvin at the tennis courts, who surely let my husband win!

Regarding the vendors who walk up and down the beach...it is a public beach, but if you lounged behind the fence, the vendors really didn’t bother you. We took advantage of the jet skis one day, and I did the parasailing another day (neither of which were through Sandals) and enjoyed them very much. The vendors only take cash and there is no ATM at the resort, so be sure to bring cash along.

A few more suggestions: 1. Pack lightly, as you will probably be in your swim suit for most of the day. 2. The drive to/from the airport is picturesque, but also bumpy and hilly. We felt lucky that our rides were only 1.5 to 1.75 hours long, but some folks traveled for 2.5 hours. 3. The other two Sandals resorts are much smaller, so you might want to consider that and the commute time, if you are thinking of visiting there. 4. Be sure to visit Pigeon Island National Park, so that you can enjoy the view from Fort Rodney and/or Signal Mountain. $8.00 admission. 5. Although it is your vacation, it is a place of employment for many people, so be prepared to hear grass blowers, carts, and occasional maintenance work.

If you are a cat lover, you will see some at the Italian restaurant, at Bayside, and at Barefoot.

We visited for a Wedding Test Drive weekend, and we had an amazing experience! Amenda and Jenna were generous in sharing their time, experience and a few great ideas we hadn't even considered! We had preconceived notions that Sandals would only offer cookie-cutter wedding packages... We were pleasantly surprised by what we found. I'd strongly recommend couples consider engaging with Amenda and Jenna at Sandals.
