Green village resort is an excellent place to stay with very high quality service and awesome food. I would request the management to pay extra attention on maintenance, otherwise it is a memorable stay

We (I along with my family) visited The Green Village in March 2015. We came from Shillong (around 6 hours drive). We got two rooms on the ground floor. I had booked after doing research online. I had to pay 25% as advance payment to block the rooms. I was a little disappointed to note that the main park was around 30 kms away. However, when we went in the early morning for elephant safari it took around 25-30 mins. The elephant safari starts from 6am. There is Bagori side which is 4-5 kms from the hotel. We went for a jeep safari there (the last entry is at 3pm).

The Pros:
Spacious rooms
Very well done interiors (same as shown on their website)
Television with Tata sky (though not all channels are available)
Breakfast was complimentary (3/4 options were there)
The backdrop of the hotel is very scenic
The restaurant has a jungle theme. (though a bit too dark for my liking)
The food was decent. We ate both Indian and Chinese
The hotel arranged for the safaris :both elephant and jeep.
The manger and staff were very helpful.

The Cons:
A vehicle has to be kept at all times. Not a good idea to release the car after reaching there.( For a small payment they can make arrangement for the driver to stay.)
There is no other place nearby if you want to have food. You have to eat at the hotel.(moderately priced).
The nearest shop is at least 5 kms away. Keep a stock of - biscuits, chips, cold drink, bottled water etc .Tea maker is given with the higher grade of rooms.
Good idea to keep mosquito/insect repellents (though provided by the hotel) as there is lot of greenery which leads to a lot of insects hovering in the evening.
The rooms are at quite a distance from the restaurant. For elderly people, walking in the evening it may be an issue. Room service would be a better option.

On the whole we had a very good experience and would recommend it to everyone. They had just opened 6-7 months back and with more time the experience should be better.

Just to reiterate it is a must to keep a vehicle. The travel back to Guwahati airport is about 3 to 4 hours depending on the traffic.

Room Tip: The ground floor rooms are good enough. The first floor rooms have a bath tub and tea maker.

My wife and I visited Green Village resort last December and had a wonderful experience. The management at the resort are extremely hospitable and go out of the way to attend to customer needs, Starting from Cab from Guwahati to Kaziranga, travel arrangements and safari in Kaziranga to best suggestions - all in one at the hotel.

The stay in the duplex room was very comfortable and local Bihu dancers provided us good entertainment. The resort arranged for the Elephant safari, Jeep Safari and provided instructions to visit Majuli....gave contacts/ arranged jeeps etc. Food at the hotel was also highly appreciated.

All in all a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: Get the Duplex room....bit expensive but worth it.

We spent three days in Kaziranga in mid April 2015. The deluxe rooms are excellent with charming views of hills and jungle from balcony. A lot of colourful birds are seen around the pond within the hotel. Staff service and behaviour are good. Food is delicious. Addition of continental foods in the menu will make it even better.

Room Tip: First floor rooms at the back of hotel has great view.
