A lovely place with a new setup run by great people whom I personally know. It is a must do for those who really enjoy the country side and love the idea of living away from the hustle and bustle of the cities.

Ok we all go to Kaziranga to see the wildlife, many of us go to photograph the wildlife. This place makes a great launchpad for both types of visit.

Main thing is the owner Mr. Bhaskar Baruah. Really loves the jungle, an avid conservationist. An keen photographer. If you are in a decent sized group, he will mostly be there personally and you can tap into his vast knowledge. By the way the new resort where we stayed has a total capacity of 8 persons, so you can figure out what I mean by "decent size group" - We were seven people so we had taken the whole place.

Even in the jungle, we like to have the basics right. The rooms are spacious, clean, and brand-new -- it opened only in December 2016. Running water with good pressure, hot water from geysers. Tea coffee maker. A nice touch is a slipper rack and couple of chairs in the verandah outside your room -- you need not bring the jungle mud indoors!!

Meals served at all awkward times as demanded -- breakfast at six am to you don't safari on an empty stomach, and so on. Nothing too elaborate, don't expect a 56 item buffet. But tasteful wholesome food, veg and nonveg, with Assamese cooking and an occasional local vegetable (my first time with "elephant apple") to complete the experience.

All in all, a good long weekend - we arrived Thursday night, left Sunday mid morning - should have had at least one more day...

I felt that the resort (owned by the government and leased out) was overpriced in terms of the facilities provided. Obviously, it had the charm of a real jungle stay as it is far far away from the locality. However, there are issues with the facilities provided. There was no room heater in the room, although it was quite chilling. No wardrobe inside the room, nor no phone to connect with the reception, given the fact that mobile tower was unreachable. You could not get an extra blanket as well. These are basic amenities which need to be provided, irrespective of your location.

The dinner that was served was average. I don't expect a fancy food menu. But a basic standard has to be maintained, given the cost involved. The breakfast although was good.

Mr. Ranjit Kalita, a local care-taker was drunk in the evening. This was an appalling fact. He behaved rudely with me when I requested the dinner to be served in my room! I was taken aback, but didn't argue as I found that would put the safety of mine and my wife at stake.

This single incident is good enough to ruin every good impression about the resort, and hence a bit more involvement from the end of the current owners is expected.

Regards,

Dr. DEEPJYOTI CHAUDHURI

We stayed overnight in late February 2017.
Not far off from NH 37 after leaving Bokakhat, the first thing that strikes you is the feel that you are with nature and not in a concrete jungle.
From the moment of our arrival till we left we were looked after by the staff with great loving care. The food was excellent. The safari ride was also very enjoyable with plenty of wildlife. This part of Kaziranga park has woodlands, tall grass and large water bodies. The room was comfortable and clean.
Thanks once again to Bhaskar and rest of the staff.
Highly recommended.

Nestled in the Eastern range of Kaziranga and the only one of its kind there, the Agoratuli Eco Tourism Resort is perfect for you should you wish indulge your wilderness cravings. Set among fields and a stones throw away from the park, this place offers wonderful Assamese food, access to a stunning range and Bhaskar and his friendly staff. And what I like best is that there's no TV so the wilderness experience extends into an evening under the stars with a good chance of hearing the alarm calls of deer, trumpeting of elephants and if you're lucky, the roar of a tiger!
