Had an excellent 2 nights at ForestWalksLodge. Sean and Rosemary are excellent hosts. The food was also excellent, with Sean being a great cook, and most of the food either being grown in their own garden or being sourced very locally.
The lodge is a very good working example of passive solar design. Very warm and stable temperature. Well worth the visit just to see and experience this.
The guided botanical walk is a must do add on.
Thoroughly enjoyed the stay

We had the most relaxing, enjoyable and rejuvenating "nature-based" stay at Forests Walks Lodge. Everything about it is authentic and organic. Amazing forests walks to see ancient giant trees, fern forests, and other natural wonders. Sean is the best host imaginable, a great cook and knowledgeable on the area's natural and cultural history. The views from our room were inspiring and peaceful.

Room tip: We had the largest room and it was great

We stayed 3 nights at the Lodge. Sean and Rosemary were wonderful hosts; the lodge is nestled on the edge of the forest in an amazing valley. Sean's cooking was superb - the evening meals were a highlight, especially the amazing deserts. The ambience around the Lodge is relaxing and enjoyable. During Covid the guest numbers are limited to family units and the two of us thoroughly enjoyed the lodge experience.
On the last day it rained heavily and after returning to the Lodge and enjoying a pre dinner drink Sean pointed out a waterfall cascading down the western Tiers - only flows after heavy rain. Wonderful to sit with the fire and watch with the ducks running around and sheep grazing on the valley floor.

Thanks Gary it was lovely to be able to host Tasmanian's in this time of crisis. And so glad you enjoyed the food, prepared with love by Sean. It is certainly a beautiful place to relax and wind down.

We had a lovely room where we could listed to the sound of a babbling brook as well as the contented sounds made by the free range ducks. Rosemary and Swan were lovely hosts. The guided walk was very interesting and the food, cooked by Sean, was excellent. We definitely recommend it.

During COVID they are only accepting bookings from family units. Our unit was 2.

Thanks for your appreciation of our accommodation and surroundings. The guided walk is one of the highlights for many people who stay, even Tasmanian's who have enjoyed being out and about and learning more about their own island state. We will soon be accepting more people from interstate and trust they will also enjoy learning about the state and fate of the forests surrounding us.
