My husband and I booked our room at very short notice, due to a change of travelling plans we needed to have an overnight stay on the Transfagarasan. It was very easy to find even in the dark, just a few metres down a lane from the main road and clearly signposted. The friendly host came out to greet us and help us with our bags, he spoke excellent English and was very helpful with travelling suggestions and any questions that we had. The hostess the next morning didn't speak English as well but she was also very nice and friendly. We had booked the triple room (for 2 adults) as the double room was not available, there was more than enough space, it looked just like the photos on the website and it was very clean. The bathroom was small but adequate, the free wifi was good and easy to log on and there were sockets next to the bed for charging. The double bed was comfortable and the surrounding area was silent at night so we both slept well. The window faced the mountains and if the weather had been better it would have been a lovely view. Directly above our room was a shared seating area which would be a charming place to relax for an hour or so, unfortunately we did not have time as we arrived late and left early. There is also a well equipped shared kitchen and they let us put some food in their fridge overnight. There is plenty of parking in front of the house and the gates were locked at night so it was secure although the whole area is charming and feels very safe. It is an excellent stopover for the Transfagarasan but would also make a good base for a few days to explore the area. At this price you cannot expect 5* luxury but for us it was perfect and there is nothing that would stop us returning.
