“Peacefull and Relaxing”
Reviewed 25 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

A spacious cottage with rooms at opposite ends of the level access barn conversion. Two three seater and one two seater settees. Warm and comfortable and ideal for the dog with the quarry floor. Wood burner and central heated. Good location for walks into Bakewell either across the fields or via the Monsall Trail. Monsal Head and Ashford in the Water close by on good footpaths. Great and Lower Longstone equally close by. Own space for car and parking rather tight if you had a large vehicle. Practical well equipped not 5 star luxury homely practical feel to the cottage. Lovely and clean. Nearby road that did not offer any disturbance.

“Immaculate cottage - great location”
Reviewed 25 August 2012 for a stay in August 2012

The photos on the website don't really do The Old Dairy justice. It is absolutely lovely and surprisingly spacious. We weren't sure what to expect in a dog friendly cottage but there was absolutely no evidence of former furry guests and the whole cottage felt very new and exceptionally clean.
The Monsal Trail is easily accessed via fields at the back where it is an easy and pleasant walk into Bakewell (which is a lovely town). Closer still is Great Longstone where there are two great pubs. The Crispin, which is a traditional country pub and The White Lion, which serves delicious food (both dog friendly).
This was our fist visit to the Peak District and as we travelled around we felt we were staying in the nicest area and were extremely happy with our choice. Would definitely consider returning, could imagine it being beautiful in the winter with the wood burner on...

Liked best: The decor, size, setting, local people.... - we could have happily moved in and not left.
Liked least: The road at the front is not pleasant to walk along as it's used by lots of lorries but this was not really an issue as we tended to use the Monsal Trail at the back of the property if out walking.
