Which you may very well do if you climb the wrong way.....it is a splendid pile with magnificent views and you can drive almost right to the door. But watch opening times.

The castle can be reached by a scenic footpath that starts in the center of this small town or, if you don't feel like walking, you can go up by car. The entrance to the castle costs only 3 euro... Not much to visit a nice castle with wonderful views, especially when one reaches the top! Going up the stairs is all worth it! A visit is a must if you are in Brisighella!

Amazing views and a wonderful sense of history! It's a good climb up the hill to wear off the calories (or you could cheat and drive)!

As Emy said in a previous review, the Rocca is just one of the pieces of a chain that is rich in history, character and originality. A wise tourist should not miss this 5 minute detour from Faenza by train. We observed the Rocca from the clocktower point, and took a few photos looking down to the unspoilt town of Brisighella. Two food specialities to savour are the salami di Brisighella and the extra virgin olive oil. The town also has a thermal spa to indulge and unwind. The outdoor markets were great too, we bought a lovely tablecloth and my wife bought some comfy home sandals, both at cheap prices. We visited in September 2011.

A fun castle to explore with terrific views of Brisighella. 10-15 minute hike up to castle from the town center with 3 euro entrance fee. Best thing is the light and sweet Brisighella extra virgin olive oil - some of the best in Italy. Some buildings have unique, very old second floor porticos (see picture). A good day trip is 1/2 day in Ravenna, to see the mosaics, followed by a few hours in Brisighella.
