This review relates only to the use of motor home parking at Newgrange Lodge. I really hope our experience was an exception. Reception staff were very nice, and I really wish there was more I could say that is positive.
The cost for parking, without electricity, was €18. This is to park in the car park, with access to the lounge area to access WiFi, which is not accessible outside.
The car park is a loose stone area, so any traffic coming and going is quite loud.
And this is the problem. We were staying here, with our young family, for an overnight stopover.
One group were socialising loudly until after midnight. Eventually we managed to get some sleep, until another group arrived in the car park with their car stereo blasting at what must have been full volume. When they got out of their cars their behaviour was loud and inconsiderate, with much swearing. This began at about 3:50AM!
Our only choice was to leave at 4:30am to try to find somewhere else suitable to park.
Very disappointed and annoyed to have spent €18 for the "privilege" of parking in a busy car park for less than 3 hours of sleep.
Sorry to say we will not be using this particular spot again!
By the way, I'm writing this at 5:15am after finally settling for a supermarket car park. Not exactly what we had planned for the first night of our holiday!

We enjoyed our stay at Newgrange Lodge very much. The location could not be better for a visit to Newgrange which is just up the road. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, even offering to give us a lift to town to visit the pub! Our rooms were small, but quite clean and had everything we needed. There is ample parking. A previous reviewer complained (at rather obnoxious length) about the breakfast offered. We thought it was fine. It included cereals, fresh brown bread, toast, hot porridge, pancakes, eggs, and tea and coffee. Not sure what else you could ask for! It was lovely to stay so close to Newgrange and get there early before the huge crowds arrived. This allowed us to get same-day tickets and tour both Newgrange and Knowth. Highly recommend this friendly place.

Yep, this is the best spot to explore Newgrange from. And if it weren't for their location there's little to recommend concerning this property.
Besides the place being filled with poorly behaved kiddies running rampant at all hours the staff is questionable at best. Granted, the lady who checked us in was very nice. But her evening replacement found my request for a single functioning lightbulb on par with the most unreasonable of demands. One bulb in the bathroom, one bulb in the bedroom which doesn't work. Simple, isn't it? Not by a long shot. This (expletive deleted) seized the opportunity to have a Teutonic Meltdown directed at yours truly. Wanting to better see the glorified dorm room I'd paid good money for is not worthy of open hostility. Talk about a terrible attitude.
The next morning held yet another surprise. In the event you pre-pay for the morning trough meal, and upon seeing the fare served decline to imbibe their foul twaddle, expect yet another barrage of derision. Apparently the staff was gobsmacked by a customer not being willing to eat their horrific chow. They instantly assumed I wanted a refund which tells you they've encountered this scenario prior. But that wasn't the case. I just wanted to take a pass and move on. But no. I was treated to some low budget prison cook reading me the riot act.
Losers, the lot of 'em.

This was a very nice place to stay. Clean, secure, and friendly people. The breakfast was top notch hostel breakfast. It is lodgelike and very rustic. I was very cozy and comfortable here. Would stay again! Below average WiFi.
