“Romantic, beautiful, peaceful natural setting with private river bank and close to beach”

My wife and I stayed in this romantic bolthole over Easter 2014, the weather was great and we quickly relaxed into the wonderful feeling of true Tuscany (Tuscany near to some great beaches!). Helped by the wonderful owner Massi, who was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful when you need local advice, recommendations etc, and also allowed us to have complete privacy.
Descend down a small picturesque lane winding through Olive groves from the beautiful hilltop village of Montescudaio. The last ~300m takes you deep into a secluded spot above a lush river - which can be accessed directly from the property via the wonderful woodland and private river bank.
This is a real slice of Tuscany, no tourist trappings, let yourself relax into it and you’ll soon feel like a true Tuscan. The owner provided us with great seasonal vegetables and olive oil. The place is incredibly quiet at night, except for the quiet trickle from the natural spring in the garden. Plenty to do within a short drive, including some great pine fringed beaches and fantastic beach-side or hilltop restaurants – although as the week progressed we increasingly enjoyed eating at the house and taking local walks - the house is so steeped in nature.
The property is traditional Tuscan, decorated in a modern style with a twist of Asia/India, there are plenty of places to relax, with beautiful hammocks. We will definitely return soon.
