Returned from GPH on March 30th, having spent two glorious weeks here -- absolutely fantastic hotel, people, weather, food, facilities -- need I say more: From checking in to checking out this hotel ticked all the right boxes for a much needed holiday for myself and husband. The hotel is big, but not so that you felt crowded, there is plenty of room. The villas are beautiful (villa blocks 13 -18 are good on the GPH side, if you wish, ask for upgrade for a sea facing view, we did and it was heaven) you are not too far from the main food restaurants or should you wish to hop on a courtesy vehicle they are there to transport you where ever you wish to go, whether it be a short distance or longer it really isn't a problem - they are great fun and the drivers are lovely.
The food - two main buffet restaurants - some queueing at peak meal times but really not a problem, the foods here will suit everyone with a fantastic selection, variety and choices. The egg station is always popular with omelettes etc, so a little queue/wait but well worth it. There are numerous Al a Carte options also - Mexican, Bubbas, Asian, Italian, Jerk Hut, Blue Lagoon, Poseidons & Creole -- we ate at Mexican(2), Asian & Jerk hut - lovely no need to reserve, however these restaurants are very popular, and may be go a little earlier if you want to eat here - you won't be disappointed. Didn't try all the Al a Carte, our choice, but no complaints from people that had dined there.
The bedroom we had (1526) was large, massive bed, all facilities in bathroom, excellent hairdryer. lovely views (we upgraded as mentioned above) - towels changed daily, bedding every other or if you asked everyday. Plenty of wardrobe space, and safe box. Would have like a kettle option (minor issue) but the coffee making facilities was lovely. Mini bar stocked daily with waters, soft bottled drinks, and cans of red stripe.
The hotel grounds were immaculate and the staff were courteous at all times, even stopping their works so people could pass.
Pool facilities fantastic for all ages, the usual 'towel' saving brigade were there - with many beds appearing to be taken but with no sight of any one using them at all through the day!! however, this happens and is no big deal. We used the beach facilities where the Beer Hut was - and this proved to be tranquil. The sea can be rocky under foot (beach shoes good idea) but ok if you venture out (I didn't but other people were and swimming ok).
There are shops within the hotel - lovely but as expected a little expensive, but also very nice quality.
There is a spa & beauty building -- had a visit, but did not use their facilities, but it looked lovely and many people there.
There was also a gym - looked fantastic facilities, again did not use (worn out looking at the energetic ones on the machines !!).
There was also a sports area, wedding gazebos, theatre area, dive centre, sports/swim up bar and probably things I've left out (sorry if I have) again all fantastic.
The staff here are warm, friendly people whose aim is to make your holiday perfect, and for us it was just that -- Perfect. A very big thankyou to everyone - We will be back.
The Lady Hamilton side of the hotel looked lovely, but as we did not stay here, I am unable to comment, but from what I saw they looked lovely villas (may be a little bit further away from the main hub of things, but nothing you couldn't walk, and may be a little quieter )
P.s free wi-fi -- not too good in the room we had, unsure of service if you had the premium option - may have too pay for this? but this did not bother us, I was on my holidays and just switched off all electronic communications!!!!
All in all to sum up this hotel -- Amazingly fantastic.
