This was my husband's and mine 1st ryokan stay in Japan. I can't imagine anything finer.
Let's start with the room itself, beautiful, traditional shoji screens dividing the rooms, sculptures, tatami mats, futons and kimonos. So traditional, mid evil Japan. Perched on a corner of the ryokan with wrap around views of the Pacific ocean and Soma city. The best private outdoor thermal tub and shower on your own wrap around balcony. Highly recommend the bath early in the morning as the sun rises over the pacific. So, so romantic! As traditional as it was it had all the modern conveniences you can ask for including the fabulous Japanese toilet and an amazing massage chair. The food was private dining and spectacular. Chef Keita Endo is the best. His seafood creations were without a doubt some of the best Japanese food we ever tasted. He described each dish to us with such passion and love we devoured it all.
The staff are helpful and location perfect for a tour of the Fukushima area. Highly recommend!More
