It’s a basic but nice property on the side of the river and close to nature. The food is good and the main attraction was the hospitality by the manager Binet. He made sure we are comfortable and attended to all our requests. He single handedly runs the whole show including cooking, room service, entertaining guests, story telling and what not. Plan to go there again during the kayaking season and hope to meet Binet again

A perfect riverside place blend into the nature with 20 Tents having spectacular view of Periyar River. The tents are good in sizes and comfortable too. The food was excellent and hospitality was at its best. Seriously if you are into offbeat locations in a natural atmosphere, then Amritara Hornbill camp is the perfect place to be. On the whole it was an amazing experience.
We stayed in Amritara hornbill camp in December 2020 for 2 nights. The accommodation was very comfortable also food is very good. This resorts very good for nature lover. It's situated close to the famous bird sanctuary.
It was my personal visit to Kerala on a family tour. Thank god I landed to Amritara Hornbill camp, Thatteked. It is located near kochi perfectly blend into nature with 20 niche tent rooms with own jungle and spectacular view of Periyar river. Another thing I liked about this place is that it is near Dr. Salim Ali bird sanctuary. Tents with pre heated water geysers. Gazebo is the place where food is served. It is 360 degree open sit out. To keep oneself involved the camp provides archery, kayaks , cycling and many more.
Beautiful heritage hotel in the heart of Kochi fort but still very quiet, the staff was incredibly helpful, friendly and polite. Rooms are spacious, clean and well kept. Heritage walk was superb with all old structure, churches and Chinese fishing net. There are a number of complimentary activities included, such as kayaking, cycling and archery. A number of birds can be seen from the camp and the salim ali Bird Sanctuary is only a short drive away.
