Good eats and lots of brews. Good local color and easy to find company for a talk. Know Lismore Village through locals.

We dropped in during a week day lunchtime. We had our 11yr old in tow. Very friendly staff showed us to a free table inside (plenty of tables outside too in their beautiful garden out the back). Nice and clean every where. I had a chicken salad, hubby had burgers in sauce (that's what it said on the chalkboard menu, no idea what sauce it was though but it was delicious), and 11yr old had mash and roast beef. Food is very simple, nothing fancy but very tasty and wholesome. Decent price too.

Eamonn prepares good food fresh everyday with local ingredients. Meat from the butcher down the road, veg from the greengrocers up the road. He's a good cook, lunch is piping hot and the size of the plates is deceptive as you always feel full (they're deep not wide). Not sure if they do dinner but he may rustle up a sandwich or toastie.
A lovely pint in here too and the wine is excellent quality.

Went in for lunch. Had a couple of Guiness and Irish stew. Reasonably priced with a fantastic beer garden.

Great little bar, with a fantastic walled garden out back, with stone walls that must be at least 16 feet high!

A lovely place to enough a drink on a sunny day.

Also does a very nice hot lunch during the week, which is very popular with locals - which tells a lot!

Lismore itself is a really beautiful village, peaceful, well maintained - with the added upside of having a working castle on the banks of the Blackwater. It is a real highlight of Waterford, and should be better known, but thankfully is not over-run with tourists!
