“Log Huts-Chail Palace-Romantically Adventurous”
Reviewed 30 March 2013

We stayed in Log Huts at Chail Palace.Well, it perfectly suited our idea of a holiday i.e a calm, serene , green and clean place. While many, especially with kids or older parents, may not prefer log huts as they are situated at a distance (at least a KM from the main palace building) with no room service facility. But if you are a young couple who love to take leisure walks amid a lush green forest and has no problem walking a few yards to take your meals, this place may attract you. There are Jungle treks in and around the property. Do not expect luxury in log huts, but all basic amenities are available like Hot Water, TV with DTH connection, full mobile and data card coverage, charging points and an attendant on call. Staff was courteous too. Bonfire can also be arranged for a lovely sit out during evenings. Mornings are amazingly beautiful. When we stayed there, we were only occupants among 5 Log huts. Honestly, at times it even felt spooky and eerie , especially while we came back at night after having dinner at palace complex! Some things which you may like to take along are a Hammock , candle, match box and lots of books to read! And yes, you should carry a stick (a bare tree branch or something) with you while traversing between palace and log huts to shoo away occasional stray dogs and monkeys, though they do not trouble much unless you are having food articles with you!

Room Tip: Many, especially with kids or older parents, may not prefer log huts as they are situated at a dista...

Well maintained, peaceful property. Good service and attentive staff. Prices not so steep when compared to similar properties elsewhere. Not a lot to do except laze on the grounds and go for long walks. Video games not functioning, and massage centre/spa only open in peak April - May. Decent food. Log cabins far from the main property, but clustered next to each other. Accessible by car.
Himneel and Rajgarh rooms quite good and have room service and their own lawns. Cheapest room in the main palace itself 2 steep floors down in the basement (given the hilly nature) and quite dark, though well maintained.
Awoke to birds chirping, monkeys fighting and dogs barking every morning. A great feeling of being one with nature.

Room Tip: If elderly people, or dont like stairs, but want cheaper rooms, dont stay in the main palace, but lo...

We went here from Junga for a day trip to visit this palace and to have lunch. This ahs old world charm with rooms from a bygone era. We walked around the palace and luckily as we were the only visitors one of the staff allowed us to view the Maharaja, Maharani and the Rajkumari rooms. We would have loved to stay here but it was slightly above our budget. The building and grounds are beautiful.

Ist choice to stay at hill station in summers. Lofty ceilings, imperial furniture and grand pathways and this is place which has a cameo in 3 idiots..and related to Ranchoddas Shamaldas Chanchad (Rancho) / Chhote / Phunsukh Wangdu. ...great place. I strongly recommend to experience the real maintained heritage royalty, privacy and super luxury.

Room Tip: Stay in palace compound
