Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 school age kids) is on a sabbatical / world schooling year and we stayed with Rosi and Nazir for 10 amazing nights in Jan 2020. We were first timers and met other guests who have come back again and again, and we now understand why. It’s an incredible location in a small village in northern Kerala, with pristine, empty beaches and nearby coves. Well worth the 5-6 hour train ride north from Kochi (there is also an airport in Kannur). Homemade breakfasts and dinners are superb, healthy buffets with a variety of traditional and creative dishes. Every meal felt like a special occasion. We stayed in a simple, cozy room on the top floor with a double bed, single bed & attached bathroom about 15 meters behind the front rooms, with sea & sunset views from the balcony. They provided us with an extra cot & mattress which worked well for our family. The shaded community dining table was great for us to do art, write, read, etc during the hot afternoons. Rosi gave us great suggestions for a yoga teacher, Theyyam, the Loknath handloom weaving center, and a visit with the local gold/silversmith. The morning birds are amazing in the backwaters- do try out the canoe with homemade paddle. We also got great tips for the next leg of our journey. Feeling so grateful to Rosi and Nazir and their lovely & diligent staff for treating us like family. Our kids say they give Kannur Beach House 100 out of 5 stars!

So many good things to say about my stay here it's impossible to fit it into just one review. Let's start with the beautiful location: only a two-minute walk to the gorgeous beach which is perfect for swimming- warm clean water that you won't want to get out of. Even if you decide to stay at the house there is a wonderful view of the water and scenery which you can enjoy while relaxing in a comfy hammock. The food: every meal was delicious, my personal favorite was breakfast. But most importantly, the family running the homestay: some of the kindest people you will ever meet. I loved the conversations we would have or how I would feel right at home when I was there. I am so thankful to have been able to stay here and met such great people :-)))))))))

If you want a place to relax, this is the place. The view from the rooms are amazing and wonderfull, the staff super friendly and welcoming. Lying in a hammock reading and listening the ocean and the waves splashing is like being in heaven. The beach is breathtaking and to take a walk along the water you will ba as calm as you can be.
Thank you for a remarkable stay

Kannur Beach house is the perfect place to be for either relaxing, doing yoga or getting away from the bustle of life. With hammocks across the garden and the beach viewable from the property it feels like a little piece of paradise. Rosi and Nasir are very helpful and kind and do their best to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. I will definitely be returning!

Our favourite place to relax in India. Kannur Beach House has so much to offer, wonderful food, sea views through coconut palms, a backwater teaming with bird life, sea swimming, massages and much more. Most of all it is Rosie and Nazir that make it so special, there is always a warm welcome and good conversations round the communal table They are full of local knowledge and always there to help find a tuk tuk or a visit to a Theyam. We can't recommend it more highly.

Room tip: Ground floor, sea facing the best
