Sometimes you go to a place and you just know that it is a place you will return to. This is one of those places. We were only able to stay three nights which was not enough, but it was fully booked after that time so we had no option! On first arriving I thought that three nights would probably be fine as it seemed that there would not be so much to do there...but that turned out not to be true at all. It is a place to slow down, unwind, relax and enjoy the beautiful nature. Breakfast and dinner are included in the room rate and both were excellent...fresh home cooked tasty meals in abundant quantities. It very much does not feel like a guest house or hotel. It is a homestay, and the hosts, Rosi and Nazir, are so warm and welcoming. They are extremely helpful, and very knowledgable about the local area, and the wonderful theyyam ceremonies, which are only to be found in this area of India. It's very social as everyone eats together, including Rosi and Nazir, and very quickly feels like home. Next time I will book well in advance and stay longer. I can't recommend it highly enough. The rooms are large and airy with perfect sunset views. They are fairly simple, not fancy, and exactly right!

We stayed at the Kannur Beach House for 5 nights in February and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms are modest but the location is great, food delicious and the hosts couldn't have been more helpful. There are several virtually deserted beaches nearby and a lagoon you can canoe along to look at the birds. Breakfast and dinner were all freshly cooked and apart from very good food, it was enjoyable to meet a range of fellow travellers. Rosie and Nazir were very informative and super helpful.

Great homestay, Lovely food, wonderful hosts, great guests from England, Germany, Austria and Finland. Beach 100 metres away, ensuite rooms and balconies. Some with A/C. When I was there only 32 degrees and sunny!

Room tip: Front rooms with sea view

Kannur Beach House is a lovely spot by the beautiful and peaceful Thottada Beach.
When you want to relax by the sea and stay close to beautiful nature this is place is for you. Food was great and very versatile. You can really enjoy delicious Keralan cuisine in breakfast and dinner. Family who are running the place are very friendly and helpful.
Surely want to go back there next time visiting in South-India.
