..my plan was to stay for three nights - I ended up staying almost two weeks in this
most wonderful, dreamlike, old school little homestay right between jungle, river and sea.

This character house is loaded with so much atmosphere and warmth!
The furniture, the fabrics, the red canoe - all details in and around the house celebrate and support local spirit and there's a highly developed consciousness for the beauty of the region's rich and vibrant heritage.

Rosi and Nazir, the noble owners of the house have a talent and a feeling for hospitality out of the ordinary. The excellent local food is cooked by Rosi with pride, love and passion. At Dinner time inspired and inspiring guests from around the world - many long time Regulars - eat together on a long dining table, sharing stories and enjoying the family-like atmosphere. Laughter is in the air, respect and compassion.

Silent days, bright days, fallen out of time. Jungle walks, early mornings at the river. All these birds! Quality Beach time. Theyyam adventures (Local temple ceremonies). Time for a good book. Watching the light how it is changing.
Kannur Beach house, a true refuge!

Thank you Rosi and Nazir, for a legendary stay.

Our stay at Kannur Beach house was wonderful. Rosi and Nazir are great hosts, very knowledgable-we had some great conversations at the table, the food was very tasty local cuisine, clean rooms with superb views . Sit and read a book in the peaceful surroundings, take a walk on the beach which is right in front of the house or explore the area....a perfect relaxing holiday.

We spent the most fantastic week at Kannur Beach House. The room was very special with a stunning view of the beach and lagoon.Delicious, authentic Keralan food was served in an intimate and relaxed dinning area where we enjoyed meeting fellow guests from around the world.Apart from the beautiful location,we enjoyed paddling through the lagoon, attending a fascinating local ritual known as Theyyam in a nearby village and even the great honour of being invited to a family wedding.
The real high point of our stay was spending time with Rosie,Nazir and family, who were not only wonderfully warm and welcoming but so informative about their culture and habitat.
We really do look forward to visiting again in the future.Thankyou lovely people.

Room tip: All the the rooms are great.

This was our second stay with Rosie and Naz - two years after our first one. Their home is great - relaxed and in a truly beautiful setting. It’s an ideal place to sit and read, to swim or to watch the sunset and the birds and Kannur itself is just a short rickshaw or bus ride away for shopping and wandering. The food is, as we remembered, absolutely delicious and all freshly prepared with love. Rosie and Naz are a relaxed, welcoming and well-travelled couple and we count ourselves lucky to have met them in life. We will definitely return.

Lovely peaceful location right on the beach. Rosi & Nasir were great hosts. Very welcoming and interesting people to talk to. They were also very helpful at arranging things to do in the area.

the best food we had whilst we were in India! It’s mainly vegetarian fare with some fresh fish thrown in that Nasir catches most days.

One thing I would say is that it is a remote place so only come here if you are looking for a relaxing time. The rooms are basic but clean and were fine for us.
