Stayed 10 days during my solo travels and plan on returning. Roshanara and Nazir are fantastic hosts (and company) and the food was amazing. Roshanara oversees the meals and patiently explains each South Indian dish. The communal outdoor area is a great opportunity to get to know the other guests visiting from every corner of the globe. The days there are what ever you make them; Whether you want to relax in the hammock with your coffee and book, or hire a Rickshaw and explore Kannur - Its super easy and always economical.

The Beach is maybe a hundred meters away and was always lukewarm which I actually liked (Easy to get straight in and out) and the local fishermen are super friendly to the guests. I recommend attending a local Theyyam performance if there are any showing during your stay, and not stressing too much about plans. Its quite easy to access information or improvise during your stay and I often found myself wanting to do nothing at all but relax in the hammock.

Absolutely recommend!

Rosi and Nazir make you very welcome in this comfortable house and spacious garden. It is not overly modern or luxurious but relaxed, with The food, breakfast and dinner is fantastic, always a great choice of different dishes, freshly prepared and eaten around a communal table, where Rosa and Nazir join the group for good conversation. There is always somewhere to flop and relax in the garden, a variety of hammocks and chairs

The location is quiet, near some wonderful, empty beaches. Canoeing up the creek is a rare treat, a chance to watch a huge variety of birdlife. We did find ourselves getting a tuk-tuk at 3 in the morning to go and visit the Theyyam - an extraordinary folk festival, and a visit to the handloom factory in Kannur was another great highlight. But none of this resulted from any high pressure sales pitch, just a genuine desire for you to get the most out of your stay. Staying at Kannur Beach House was a rich and delightful experience.

Our second visit to this wonderful homestay. We were welcomed back by Rosi and Nazir like old friends. They really make this place something special. We stayed for 11 nights this time.

This homestay is a little gem set in a garden on a wonderful beach with a river at the side. Time is spent canoeing up the river and birdspotting or doing a walk in the area. there are many nice beaches to walk to and swim in the sea. The sea can be a bit rough. Relaxing in a hammock or chair in the garden is another favourite pastime.

The accommodation is fairly rustic but comfortable. All the rooms have a balcony overlooking the garden and the sea. No fridge or kettle in the room but these are available in a small communal kitchenette.

The food is AMAZING. All the meals are overseen by Rosi, who patiently explains to all the guests what each dish is and how it is cooked. Different meals every day. Meals are taken in a communal outdoor dining area around a large table where guests share their travel tips and experiences.

Lunch is not available at the homestay but a nice walk (20 to 25 minutes) brings you to a village with a few shops and bakeries where you can buy fruit or snacks for lunch or stock up on a trip to Kannur.

A very special place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Thank you Rosi and Nazir for sharing your home and making us so welcome. We hope to return next year.

Kannur Beach House is a little bit of heaven in an idyllic setting next to a Lagoon, teeming with fish and exotic birds and other wildlife and within a few metres of a beautiful beach. Every room has a sea view with an outside area or balcony. However, what made this Homestay stand out for us has to be the hosts Rosi & Nazir. It seemed nothing was too much trouble, from providing valuable local information and advice, to booking rickshaws, arranging trips for guests etc. My Other Half was intrigued by all the local sights, the Kannur fishing port, local handweavers, a visit to a large boat-builders yard making hand-built boats for 11 generations! Another highlight for us was the amazing food with an array of delectable options for breakfast and evening meals, freshly prepared and delicious. This was made all the more pleasant by the communal dining set-up outdoors where we met many other interesting travellers. Indeed most others were returning guests which tells its own story. As this was our first visit to India, it was reassuring to be so well looked after and we will definitely be back! Thanks for a wonderful stay.

I stayed here for 3 nights. It was slightly out of my budget but it was sooooo worth it. From day one I felt taken care of. Moreover the food is absolutely amazing and the landscape is just astonishing. The hosts, Rosi and Nazir, are two wonderful people that are happy to share their stories and curious about yours. This creates a beautiful and poetic environment, where you feel you´re part of a big family. Thank you so much for these amazing days!
