Proud 2 b our Gods Own Country..
This beach is the largest Drive-In Beach in Asia . Even though Goa has many beautiful beaches, it does not have a Drive-in beach.
Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach Sunset

Sunset at Muzhappilangad Beach

The beach festival is celebrated in the month of April and it is one of the important tourist attraction in the district of Kannur in Kerala. The youth also try many driving stunts in cars like drifting and wheeling in bikes as this is a paradise for driving along the shore. Just 100m from this beach you would find a private island, which can be reached by walk at times of low tide.

There is an unpaved road winding through coconut groves leading to the beach. To get to this road, if you are driving from Tellicherry towards Kannur, take the left turn just before the first railway crossing you encounter after crossing the Moidu bridge. The beach is about 5 km long and curves in a wide area providing a good view of Kannur on the north. Local laws allow beachgoers to drive for a full 4 km directly on the sands of the beach. The beach is bordered by black rocks, which also protect it from the stronger currents of the ocean.

Approximately 100–200 m south of the beach there is a private island called Dharmadam Island (Pacha Thuruthu in Malayalam, which translates to Green Island in English). It is possible to walk to the island during low tide.

People say more about Varkala and Kovalam beaches, when someone ask them which is the best beach in kerala !!

I would say Muzhappilangad beach is the best beach in Kerala !! And know what, this is the only drive-in beach in Whole Asia !!

You can drive as much as you want, as it spreads along almost 3-4 kilometres.

Batting in the sea is also advisable, as it is not deep upto 1 km, from seashore !!

This is India's only drive in beach and it has a long stretch. There is plenty of space for vehicles to move about, even buses are driven here! Make sure not to get the salt water on your vehicle. It was quiet and peaceful when we visited around 4pm. Sunset is very beautiful. There is an entry fees of Rs. 20 to take the vehicle inside the beach.

Probably this is India's only drive in beach wherein you can take your car/bike upto the sea shores ..

The long beach provides you ample space to try out driving stunts with your bike/car

Gets crowded on weekends and holidays other days its isolated with evening walkers and romantic couples here and there

Good place but little dirty. Glass pieces on the shore. No restrooms close by(The resort nearby was abandoned when I had gone) unless you go to someones house. Can walk up to a land mass through the water if the tides let you:) Good place but make sure you wear some footwear while walking and go the restroom before you reach here. Go at a time when the tides are slow to walk to the land mass. And yes the best part is that there is a small water body which has fresh water:) Hardly about a foot deep:)
