“Great location for beach”

I was staying at the Seaview flat with my parents and my two children, aged 6 and 1 years.

Pros -
lovely clean flat, bright and airy. Full sky tv including movies which is great on wet days when you cant get out. There is pretty much everything you could need available in the flat, you just need to check all the cupboards as they are dotted around.
The location is fantastic, with the beach so close by and there is a playground and minigolf just up the road, it is perfect for families. The co-op is a few minutes walk and you also have a lovely bakers just down the road. Everything you could need is within walking distance.
Lovely friendly town.

Cons -
lack of parking is a pain when loading and unloading. The owner did helpfully provide a map which located some free overnight parking but we didn't want to keep having to move the car so just paid for the 24 hour.
The hallway does not provide the greatest first impression but having lived in a similar set up I understand it is difficult to do anything with communal spaces. The owner has tried to make the top landing more pleasant.
As mentioned in a previous review the windows could do with replacing, we had a particularly wet & windy day and the main window in the living room (which incidentally had a broken catch) had quite a draught coming through it.
As with the parking the stairs are hard going when you have to do several trips with luggage etc and we also had a heavy travel cot to haul up.

Living in a coastal town myself I am used to seagulls and I think if you book accommodation so close to the sea you have to expect that.
There was a bit of noise in the square in the evening but nothing excessive. It is right next to a pub but it doesn't have music playing and you wouldn't really know it was there. My parents could hear people outside as they slept in the main bedroom but the children were not disturbed at all.

“Totally met expectations”
Reviewed 16 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

The good: Excellent location, a short walk to the sea, close to shops and car parks. Bright, spacious flat. Well equipped.
The bad: Two flights of stairs could be challenging to some people.
The ugly: Noisy seagulls screeching at any time of day or night.

“home from home plus!”

A fantastic apartment with views straight down to the sea. All the mod cons you could ask for and good quality unlike other rentals that appear to have raided a jumble sale. Huge bonus of Sky TV and wifi, dishwasher and washer dryer. Parking was easy in the road opposite or by the Co-op. Yes it has designer cutlery and omg seagulls...what are they doing by the sea?? seriously this is a gem and worth the climb up several stairs even my father in his 90's managed.. but then you get the views and no stairs in the flat itself. The area is now quite quiet as the nearby club has closed. The raised bed is more suitable for a teen or young adult being the equivalent of a top bunk. Linda should be proud of her flat.

“Good value, convenient location, well equipped flat.”
Reviewed 20 August 2012 for a stay in August 2012

We holidayed with our 3 teenage boys who loved the flat and sky tv! Light and spacious and well equipped.
Centrally located so very convenient to local amenities. Bit noisy on Friday and Saturday nights due to nearby nightclub but rest of week was quiet and we slept well.
A good base for exploring.
Car park permit now costs £21 but can be used throughout East Devon so good value.
Two flights of steps to reach flat so may not be suited to anyone who struggles with stairs.
Great holiday, would stay again.
