We had a pleasant stay here for a couple of nights. The room was good - the fireplace was a good asset. The front desk staff was uniformly good - helpful and professional.

Dinner was OK. Service was adequate, food was acceptable.

Breakfast was good - nice selection and good service.

I'd stay again if in the area.

Room tip: Choose a Chateau Suite

My wife and I have been booking our mini Fall escape 3-day weekends in Orford for nearly 10 years now and the Manoir des Sables was our choice again this year. Staff is friendly and helpful as always and we love our corner suite room with fireplace access from bedroom and living room on the other side. The bathroom is very spacious as well. Our only issue this year was with their pets policy, and the reason they earned one less star for this stay.. They do allow dogs and we were happy as our furry friend was not feeling great and we wanted him with us. We were advised of a $30 per night extra charge, which I wanted to discuss with them on-site. We typically don't take room service therefore hung the "do not disturb" on the door from Friday to Sunday. When it came time to check out, they advised us of the $60 fee (plus tax) for the extra cleaning. At this point I explained I did not agree with this fee as (1) our dog is 15lbs and doesn't shed, (2) we didn't have the room cleaned while we were there. The attendant at teh front desk was polite and understood my challenge, but simpy refered to this being their policy and there was nothing they could do, trying to explain that even though they didn't clean the room Saturday, they would need to work "twice as hard" today, and they vacuum the room twice when a dog was there. I laughed and said "are you telling me you will now vacuum for $60 worth of effort??". I dropped it but reminded them that we've been going there for several years and we spend approx. $1,000 there between room, massage, restaurant, and I didn't appreciate being nickel and dimed like this. They could have waved at least one night of extra fees to keep a loyal customer satisfied.

Spent a weekend here relaxing, eating and playing golf with my wife. It was a lovely weekend filled with great service and a lovely & clean room.
To be able to walk out of your room and head directly to the first tee is a huge bonus. While the golf course is quite picturesque, be prepared for a very slow round on Sat & Sun. Very slow on the weekend.
The buffet breakfast was plentiful. The dinners we ate were very reasonable & better than average cuisine.
The outdoor hot tub waterfall was a very nice bonus, especially at night.

We stayed here for one night on our way to Maine. We arrived at the hotel after 9 pm and were greeted by a friendly woman at the desk. We were happy with our room which had a small refrigerator and in the morning we could see the view looking out the back of the hotel over the lake and golf course. There is no information in the room about wifi access, pool hours, restaurant information, map of the hotel and grounds, paddle boat rental, etc. We didn’t have a balcony but some rooms do. We walked down the back stairs to the small park area with swings and a slide. Nothing fancy. The back stairs look like they are being replaced. The bottom of the stairs is a bit of a mess. Not sure if this is just supposed to be used as a fire exit in case of emergency. From there you have to walk down a large slope to get to the park and the water. It would be nice if there were stairs or a pathway. We went to the workout room which wasn’t very impressive. The hotel is in a lovely setting. The breakfast is very expensive. $19 per person. Overall, the hotel is dated but ok.

Room tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel have a nice view of the mountain.

Hi,
I want to thank you very much for your review. It is a pleasure to read what our guests have to say about our property. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful resort. In fact, we are currently working on the access to the lake from the back stairs.
We hope to see you again for more than a night for you to take advantage of all the activities available on-site!

We stayed for one night in a junior suite in the "Château" section of the hotel. Room was a little expensive but extremely spacious, cozy and clean. Balcony with nice view overlooking the lake is a plus for warmer weather.

Living room area and room area separated by french doors. Kitchenette area with a couple of plates, utensils and glasses made it great for us to enjoy a little snack in the morning before hitting the road. Wood-burning fireplace and spacious bathroom with whirlpool tub.

Comfortable king size bed. Being pregnant, I really appreciated the many pillows!

Front office clerk was friendly and attentive to our needs. Did not get her name but she was very professional and helpful.

Needless to say, we had a great couples weekend and felt very relaxed afterward!
