The blurb says its "a gem of a house" and I confirm that wholeheartedly having just spent 10 heavenly days there. To say the house is in Evreti a tiny village 10 minutes drive from Fiscardo actually does it an injustice, it stands alone totally secluded down an old track to a now unused church standing behind it. You look out over hillsides of cypress, olive and cedar and the only disturbance you'll get is when the local herd of goats along with their tinkling bells surround the property, that happened 4 times while we were there and we totally enjoyed it. My wife loved the seclusion of the house and pool and being a keen swimmer I loved my own private beach and bay. There is a private path from the house through a wood and down a small hillside that takes you to your own bay, no one else can get there on foot and I swam from there daily at dawn and every afternoon, only once did I come across others - a party of kayakers who'd pulled in for a rest.
The swimming is sublime every morning I swam over an hour totally alone. Lastly when you are tired of peace either rent a boat and tie it up in your own bay or get in your car and head for Fiscardo replete with a dozen or so restaurants and tavernas but still charming. Did I mention you can see Odysseus's Ithaca too from the pool (a mountain) or the bay where you look out to the adjoining island, the place is life affirming and gorgeous!
