“Just the perfect place to stay on the Bodrum Peninsular”
Reviewed 14 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

This is just a gem of a place. High on the hills with a view over the greek islands, it's restful,
away from the hectic tourist traffic and about 3 degrees cooler than the villages which is so welcomed. A perfect escape that allows you to access the tourist attractions but retreat at night to just the most magic place. One of it's best assets however is the hospitality of Francis and his wife (who incidentally used to own a restaurant.). They are there to give you all the help you need. They seem to melt into their surrounds but magically appear just when you need something. My husband and I kept remarking it was like staying with really great friends. You are pointed in the right direction for some interesting variations on the tourist spots from the little home cafe down the road that serves the best brunch to a good restaurant to have dinner in a village below. Francis was a baker so if you're lucky you might get a slice of cake or even better be there for one of their dinners. If they're not to busy they offer to host (at a small and reasonable cost) a home cooked feast which is a great change from restaurants. You do have the option of cooking something yourself too as all the units have a little kitchen. Certainly we found walking down the hill to the little shop for our morning breakfast bread a delight.
We loved our evening drink on the patio watching the sunset and chatting with the other guests. The units surround the main house so you are never on top of anybody and there are plenty of nooks to sit and relax in so there is privacy when you want it. You need a car but Francis organises that and the company guy even meets you at the airport to get the car back from you.
All in all this is the best of both worlds and just a very beautiful place and built and furnished with love and impeccable taste. We just loved our stay here. It was our highlight memory.

“Best place we stayed on our honeymoon!”
Reviewed 2 December 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We stayed at the Stone House for the last three nights of our honeymoon and I wish that we had stayed there longer! We were greeted warmly upon our arrival with a bottle of wine and food made from the garden, and everything for the rest of our stay was equally perfect. Frank's family was very welcoming and they provided a binder that was amazingly helpful - I would recommend doing everything that they suggest! We had three of the best meals we ate on our entire trip based on recommendations from Frank! The apartment was lovingly restored with the perfect balance between rustic and comfortable, and the garden and grounds were breathtaking! While we stayed there we dreamed of renting all of the apartments and villas in the compound and bringing all of our friends and family there to stay with us. If we ever have the opportunity to return to Turkey, staying here again will be a high priority!

Liked best: The recommendations made by Frank and his family of local places to visit and eat were spot on! I wish we had more time to stay there so we could take more of their recommendations!
Liked least: The buildings are old, but lovingly restored. Our apartment had flagstone floors, which were a little cold, but worth it for the ambiance!

“Utter heaven ....”
Reviewed 30 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We arrived hot, tired and bad tempered after an over-crowded flight full of all-inclusive holiday makers. Frank and Berner opened the door to their extraordinary home and all was instantly forgotten. We lay by the salt water Balinese pool with no need to go out as Berner had thoughtfully provided a welcome plate of delicious treats and Frank provided an accompanying bottle of his own Cabernet Sauvignon. Vedat the groundsman appeared with a plate of freshly picked figs and we were convinced we'd died and gone to heaven. The suites are perfect, private from one another and beautifully decorated with Frank's eclectic collection of antiques. Frank is a mine of information and effortlessly organised car hire and a boat trip in a guluk from Torba for a day's excursion as well as endless and patient directions to excellent food and wonderful sight-seeing. Berna's boundless generosity means good recommendations for beaches with children, the best hamams and wonderful dinners. If you're lucky enough to be there when they host one it'll be an unforgettable experience. We were lucky enough to be there for not only a dinner but in time to give Frank a hand with harvesting grapes for making his wine. Having a car is essential. Say hello to your inner adventurer and gourmet and goodbye to cares and worries for as long as you're in their hilltop heaven.
