Stayed for 11 nights in September and had a very enjoyable time. Had asked for a sunny room on a high floor but this was not available so was given the best that was available which was a very large family room with late afternoon sun and a large terrace on the ground floor which was very nice. Pool area very nice although I did find the TV coverage of the football a bit much as it was very loud. The food in the hotel was mostly very nice and reasonably priced. We had most of our meals in the hotel but did eat once at Bo Jangles in Lardos the food was ok service not so good. Also went to Valentinos in Lardos the food was very good, service very good and not as expensive as we had thought it would be. Unfortunately the night we went there was a lot of holiday makers there who were intent on making as much noise as they could. The walk into Lardos takes 30 - 40 min but there is not pavements all the way unless you cross back and forth across the road. The local beach is very nice and the sea very clean although there is not to much to see if you snorkle. There is a very nice beach at Glystol (not sure on the spelling) its about a 15 min bus ride with lots to see if you snorkle. Another nice beach is at Pressonissi its about an hour on the bus but well worth it. A must see is Lindos. We did the old town one day and the beach another but beware if you snorkle I was very badly stung and the pain took 12 hours to go away. It takes only 15 min on the bus. The buses are very cheap and reliable. If you are intending to take any trips with Thomsons book them before you go. We did the Rhodes town at NIght it would have been at least £12 each cheaper if we had. Also the main part of that trip was the boat ride to see the town lit up but if the water is a bit rough the boat wont go and you dont get any money back. All in all a great holiday in a lovely country but best of all is George the owner of the Hotel. We usually go away 3 times a year so consider ourselves well travelled but have never met such a great host. George really enjoys running his hotel and does his very best to ensure everyone is happy. Well done George and many thanks.

Choosing the perfect hotel for your holiday is difficult especially if you have never been to the resort or even the island before, but after reading all the reviews for the Cosmos Maris on Trip Advisor we thought this would be a good place to try. And we definitely weren't wrong!! The hotel lived up to all the amazing reviews, the rooms were extremely clean and spacious. Don't get me wrong, its not luxury (it is Greece after all!) but if you aren't fussed about having creature comforts its perfect. The pool bar we found was really good value for money, especially all the greek food. We only found the Souvlaki and Gyros stuffed pitta breads on our last day annoyingly, but they are must try! George is wonderful and so are the rest of the family. All so welcoming! And as the other reviews say, he really does remember your name after only asking once! Lardos is the closest place for good restuarants/bars. Valentinas and Roulas are very tasty! Yamas cocktail bar is also a must if you are a cocktail fan!! All round a fabulous holiday, really really enjoyed staying at Cosmos Maris and would definitely consider going back again next year!!

First time to Rhodes, first time at Cosmos Maris, if you want an immaculately clean friendly hotel this is for you, bed linen and towels changed frequently, rooms cleaned every day. Meals made fresh as you order them and all Greek food prepared my Georges sister (try the stifado i'll be dreaming about it all winter) Easy to see why this hotel has been voted the best 2 star accomodation in the world for the last 7 years by Thomson. Drawbacks? there are a few, exclusive Thomson means exclusive Brits.football on tv even during the Greek night, group of Cockneys there for a wedding domminating everything, enough said. Location a little out of the way, Lardos 20 mins away? only if you run (we had hire car for 10 days so no probs) The Italian hotel opposite will drive you mad, Firm matresses but even firmer pillows.Dont let the negatives hold you back, if you want to visit Rhodes and cater yourselves this accomodation would be hard to beat

Room Tip: we asked for a quiet room and got it (room 51) gound floor on the end, some ground floor rooms have a balconey that are not that private as lazy brits climb over the wall to get to the pool etc.

Cosmos Maris is a fabulous place to stay more worthy of a 4star.Rooms good size ,went on a budget and made a few good meals with the facilities ,toaster would have been good.George and his family are very friendly abd welcoming. Pool bar served tasty ,good value food.a nice selection of restaurants just outside hotel ,Lardos 20 minute walk with good choice of restaurants . Rooms were kept very clean ,maids were lovely.would be better if air con was included in booking price.
