We stayed at this villa which has been done to a really high standard. I went with my husband and 5 year old and we all had a great time. My son loved the pool which was safe and clean and he could also enjoy the shade of the villa when it got too warm.
The host was fantastic and really helpful. Kefalonia is a beautiful island but you do need a hire car here! (Going back for 2 weeks next year!)
We stayed at villa Ainos in June 2014, with our 20 month old daughter. And it really exceeded our expectations! The villa is newly built, and done to a really high standard. The owner Haris has obviously put a lot of love into the building of the villa, with a great open plan living area, comfy beds and not forgetting the infinity pool and BBQ area. Haris was there on our arrival to show us around & left a little welcome pack with essential food (and local wine!) which definitely got our holiday off to a great start. The location of the villa is really pretty with great sea views and there are some lovely toddler friendly beaches nearby (approx 10 min drive). We liked Trapezaki beach, with its sweet little beach and calm waters. And the restaurant here does delicious traditional Greek food.
There is a small town nearby with shops and restaurants - approx 10/15 mins walk away. The hill to the town is pretty steep, but you can take the longer route which is a bit easier on the legs if you want. There's also a nice bakery about 5 mins walk from the villa (on the way to the town)
The island of Kefalonia is beautiful, with lots of pretty coastal towns to explore. One of our favourite day trips was the coastal drive to Fiskardo. We had lunch on the seafront while our daughter played on the tiny shingle beach.
All in all, Villa Ainos and Kefalonia was a perfect choice for a relaxing family holiday. We are so pleased we discovered this place, and we will be back!
