Christos is the most helpful and friendly guy on the island, he's also a fantastic Baker. Very helpful and informative, and simple to rent, great quality bikes and service, great value for money.

We signed up for this excursion from our cruise. It said a moderate ride. We are fit and spin on indoor bikes 5 days a week. This ride is strenuous. It might be moderate for an experienced mountain biker. You need to know how to work mountain bike gears. The island is mountainous so A lot of steep climbs and down hills. They gave us helmets and gloves. You definitely need these. We rode on cobblestone streets at first, you have to watch out for cars and motorcycles. Then went off roading on dirt streets and paths. The roads had rocks, some large, ruts you needed to maneuver & there were a number of streams and creeks. There were a number of times we had to get off our bikes and walk them up it was so steep. We had to walk them thru a couple of creeks that were deep. There was one downhill part that looked like rip rap. I guess it was a draining area for a creek. Very large rocks and boulders down the mountain in a switch back formation. The guide told us this was to difficult for us and to walk our bikes down. Walking our bikes down was not easy either. You're maneuvering over large rocks that are slippery to even walk on & it's really steep. We stopped at a beach for awhile. The water was cold but refreshing but the beach is hard to walk on due to small pebble rocks everywhere. Take Teva like shoes if you go to put on. The sand gets really hot too. Several people in our group of 16 flew over their handlebars at different dirt path areas, my husband being one of them. Others came back with scrapes and cuts. The fact that no one was seriously injured or had a heart attack was a miracle. We all laughed we needed to have shirts made up saying "we survived the mountain bike excursion". We were a group with ages from young 30's to 60. Everyone that went was in considerable good shape. This is definitely a memory for us and the most talked about of our trip. So we had fun...sort of...because no one was seriously hurt! The guides were very nice. We did have several bikes break and a few had chains come off. One guide gave up his bike and waited for another one to be delivered while the other guide and group road on. Then another persons bike broke so the other guide gave up his bike and walked the rest of the journey back to town. Conclusion, know what you're getting into if you want to do this. And be in good shape with some knowledge of how to work mountain bike gears. This is a very strenuous ride.

I have been on two separate cycling tours of Skiathos during the past two years while holidaying in Skiathos and could't recommend them highly enough to anyone who wants to get on a bike during their holiday. I've already booked 2016's holiday and will definitely be using Skiathos Mountain Bikes again!

Fanis and Nikos both have excellent knowledge of the island and make the most of the day by stopping off at some of the main sights and beaches across the island while explaining the history behind some of monasteries we passed of the beaten track.

On one of the rides we cycled up and over the mountain to Kastro, it was a challenging ride on such a hot day but if we got thirsty our guide knew where to find all the fresh springs on the island so we could drink fresh spring water and fill up the water bottle which was great as it means you don't have to worry about being weighed down litres of water!

They will cater for your abilities too, I do a lot of mountain biking so said I'm happy to go on some of the more technical single track paths, which were great fun, thanks for letting my ride your bike for a bit Nikos :)

There's nothing quite like cycling across the island to one of it's many beaches and taking a rewarding swim in the sea. Make sure you have some money on you so you can have lunch at the beach taverna.

If you want to go on a guided bike ride of the island (which I highly recommend) then make sure you email them at skiathosmtb@gmail.com and let them know the dates you'll be on the island and Christos will get will get back to you. On the occasions I've been on a tour with them there were only two of us which is the smallest group they can take out so if there is no on else planning a tour when you go then you can always just hire a bike from them instead. You can get the bus to Stop #3 and it's a short walk down the road to their shop.

Have fun :)

Taken off the beaten path to explore some of the most amazing landscapes we have even seen and thought that Skiathos island would be able to offer. Professional, knowledgable, flexible, caring; a hiking team made up of experienced individuals passionate about offering authentic hiking experiences to the island’s visitors, educating us on the flora, fauna and history of Skiathos. Small group sizes cater to all ages and abilities. A great day’s activity to lose yourself in the look of magnificent sceneries that we will cherish forever. Thank you Nikos & Fanis!
