Just back from a weeks holiday and absolutely loved it. Skiathos is beautiful and the Ritsa Apartments are fab. They are minutes away on foot from Skiathos Town. There is one woman who mans the check in desk, serves drinks at the bar and cleans the rooms and she does a very good job at it! There is a menu that serves snacks at the bar but never saw anyone eating so not sure if food is available. The pool area is small with only a handful of sun beds but most people seemed to go off site thru the day. We didn’t struggle to get a bed when we wanted one. The rooms are basic but clean and adequate. WiFi was available with very good service. There is a hairdryer, iron, air con, telly (although no English channels), microwave, kettle, fridge, oven and toaster. We had a room at the back over looking the pool (and Steptoes Yard), but friends had a room at the front overlooking the street. Both rooms were fine.

Skiathos Town is full of bars and restaurants. All really friendly and welcoming. Our favourite bar was the Goldfish right on the corner of the harbour. Most bars do ‘happy hour’ between 6pm and 9pm/10pm.

There were far too many amazing restaurants to recommend but I would highly suggest you try the Italian restaurant opposite Marmita. It looks quite new and deserves a special mention. Food was amazing.

Now for the not so good points....the place is overrun with scooters. It makes a stroll down the cobbled back streets quite difficult as you are constantly been shoved out of the way to let them past.

As an avid Mamma Mia fan the one thing I was most looking forward to was the Open Air Theatre showing the movie. I was extremely disappointed (to say the least!!) to find that they don’t open until June. This doesn’t make any sense as the place was packed in May. Lots of lost trade if you ask me and a very disappointed traveller.

Lastly, we flew with Thomas Cook. At no point in any small print ( and we checked it with a fine tooth comb) did it say that our flight wasn’t direct. It seems, unbeknown to us, that the runway isn’t big enough to take off with a full tank of fuel, therefore after flying for an hour, we landed for 40 minutes to refuel. This made the flight back to the UK nearly 5 and a half hours long! We didn’t have to faff about getting off the plane thankfully and folk could get out of their seats and stretch their legs.

Despite the ‘not so good points’ I am not put off going again. In fact I actually can’t wait to go again. Highly recommend the resort and the Ritsa apartments.

Absolutely fantastic location right at the top of the main road. Supermarket and restaurants literally around the corner. Free A/C, safe and the best self catering kitchen I’ve ever encountered. The maid/bar lady/ receptionist basically this wonderful lady does everything she is amazing. Very clean and peaceful. Already looking to return here next year. We didn’t have very good weather ( raining/ cloudy & windy) but did get to use the pool & bar a couple of days. Fantastic value!!!!

Last minute deal we found this brilliant accommodation. Very clean studio apartments all with a/c TV, kitchenette with microwave, small cooker, full size fridge with small freezer compartment. Kettle and toaster too. All en suite, modern looking. Lovely balcony.

Beautiful pool, with sunbeds and bar, quite private also. Local amenities and supermarket literally round the corner. Close to Centre but it is a quiet location where you can be sure of a decent sleep at night. No bars or clubs nearby to disturb you.

Skiathos Town is beautiful with loads of little back streets to explore, and many places to eat drink and have fun. Amazing atmosphere at night, very safe and friendly. Enjoy!!

Would just like to say if you have the chance to stay in these apartments note not the studios you will be spoilt the bed kingsize was better than my bed at home visited loads of hotels and apartments in Greece the best bed by far the apartment was cleaned daily by one lady that I tell you did everything even the bar (same prices has outside the complex)we also had clean bedding every day plus clean towels (the only complaint I have was the towels were hard probably because they were washed and hung in the hot sun)never had this service in Greece before 10 out of 10 for this place we had free air con and all the kitchen equipment microwave/toaster and all the essentials it was within walking distance to the beach and harbour absolutely loved it and we will be back missing it already can't stop talking about how clean it was and don't expect sea views but who cares we had a large pool with everything we needed for an amazing holiday.oh and just to add Wi Fi was fantastic from the room and balcony and around the pool not that you need it there is to much to see and do in Skiathos town .

Room Tip: All apartments are nice and quite large did not see the studios so cannot comment

Great hotel/apartment in the centre of Skiathos town, 100 yards from Papadiamantis street, apartments are very very clean and modern, have a small furnished balacony, twin beds, great storage space, and nice bright bathroom, kitchenette with Microwave, Toaster, 2 ring cooker and the ususal utensils etc, apartment even provided an iron. Free air con, free wifi and free safe - something you hardly get anywhere abroad. Beds are comfortable and changed every other day, towels provided however are very rough, nice little pool area with plenty of sunbed - I think people tend tio use the beaches more in Skaithos so we had the pool to ourselves most days - the pool however is very cold! Little bar area with tables and chairs but again did not see anywone use the bar and hardly saw any staff from the hotel except the lady who cleaned and spoke no English. Hotel is very central with supermarket 20 yards away and main street 2 minute walk, plenty of bars and restaurants, Asprolithos just around the corner is one of the best ive eaten in anywhere in Greece, would highly recommend this lovely hotel and would certainly return

Room Tip: room at the back of the hotel gets the sun all day - most rooms face the front of the hotel
